  1. Review titled No response to my Prostate issue after A&E assessment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 October 2023

I was in A&E on Saturday 14/10 regarding a prostate issue I had abroad (With Kidney Failure). I am using a catheter. They took all the information from the Hospital abroad and sent it on to Urology. So far no one has contacted me to either see me and complete the assessment. It was a serious issue. Is it normal not to hear anything for someone in Urology? This kind of service does not seem appropriate for the severity of what I have been through. I am very disappointed in the service all round.

  2. Review titled Very good care in children’s a&e

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Thank you for taking such good care of us in Children’s a&e. All the admin team, nursing and medical teams were really kind and caring and it was hugely reassuring with a small baby. Thank you.

  3. Review titled great medical care. completely annonymous disjointed admin

I had an unexpected suspected heart attack on saturday and was admitted. Excellent care and kind. Discharged tuesday at 3. arranged my lift home. But no drugs? so waited almost 2 hours. nothing. called the ward who called the ward? nothing. the ladies at the discharge lounge called the pharmacy and were shouted at. So on the ward i’m not allowed to leave the monitor or go to the toilet. once outside the ward all care, respect and support ends? I guess these tablets could be prepared earlier, i guess pharmacy could contact me, or the ward, or deliver to the ward or something. That’s what complex and expensive it systems snd managers are paid for. instead i’m stressed, going home by bus who knows when? And i’ve had the explanation of the tablets on the ward. It just seems to go against everything described by the numerical staff and the pharmacy staff just dispense when they dispense? mental

  4. Review titled Good hospital in some ways

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Raghuvansh Soodi - Posted on 29 October 2023

In fact I had written a review earlier but want to add few more points. I had asthma attack on 27 October , and my oxygen level dropped to 88, my friend called 999, the ambulance came quickly and the staff was very very good. In A&E I being treated well, I had CT scan, and given treatment, generally I was quite happy until then. When I moved to the ward, then little problem started. Some of the nursing staff staff are very helpful but few are little rude. At least they should talk nicely with patients as we came here in pain and not here with our choice. In the end I like to mention the food, food is good as well and we have choice to choose.

  5. Review titled Impossible to get follow up care

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 September 2023

I came in for an early pregnancy loss. Scans were fine and everyone that did that sort of care was helpful. It felt very disorganised when I was diagnosed to be miscarrying and different people kept coming in and handing my information and getting me to sign forms. I was nearly sent on my way without being provided with the medication I needed. After this, I tried on three separate occasions to express my concerns about the process and was met with apathy by staff who just stated I should call after 2 weeks if I still have a positive pregnancy test. After trying to reach someone when I was unsure if what I was feeling was normal I had to reach out to another hospital and will be going to a&e there for services. I feel very let down. This was my second miscarriage in 6 months and I am extremely worried about the effects this will have on my long term fertility as I do not have children. I didn't feel like staff cared about these. I understand they often see women who have miscarried have healthy pregnancies, but I haven't experienced that and am extremely worried about side effects. Simply answering the phone or discussing this with me would have helped.

Dear writer, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sorry you've had such an experience. It is troubling to read of your experience with this service in the hospital;which has led to you not feeling cared for. It's a shame that there has been a lack of display of our core values. Please contact our PALS team (chelwest.wmpals@nhs.net) to raise this as a concern or complaint. They will be able to assist with helping you get a follow up. I will also forward this onto the service to ensure improvements in the service are made. Wishing you all the best. Camelia Patient Experience Co-ordinator

  6. Review titled Disgusted

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been trying since Sep this year to get the results of an MRI of my throat. No one helped. I am now going to Freedom of Information to get my results. I have the form. There are 2 numbers to contact West Mid on the form and both of them no longer exist. I have ow rang PALS and no one answered their phone. You have to leave a message all the time. I'm no convinced that they want to make it very hard for patients to achieve their results. I cannot understand why there is no one capable of reading these results. I asked for a telephone consultation no appointments until Aug 2024. This department definitely needs looking into as far as I'm concerned they are running this as a convenience for themselves, and with no consideration for the patients.

Having being admitted on 15 Aug for breathing issues , I have been well looked after . The staff are extremely caring, professional with a sense of urgency. 9. Review titled Truly Exceptional Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My son managed to break his nose at school, during games. We came to A & E who checked him out and then referred us to the ENT department. The doctor we saw in the ENT Department could not have been more professional, kind and patient with us. He explained what the options for my son’s treatment were, gave us time to think over them, and once our decision was made, he did the procedure with care. Thank you so much for the excellent care that was given to my son. It really was very much appreciated.
