  1. Review titled ENT service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Graham Genoni - Posted on 12 November 2023

I had an excellent service at the ENT section at W Middx hospital. Despite a slight scheduling problem, I was seen by an excellent consultant, who explained everything clearly, engaged with me openly and did a very thorough examination and gave clear advice. I was the copied into the letter to my GP about 5hrs later. Brilliant!

  2. Review titled Great care by the sunshine ward and by the surgent

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mrs Tahir - Posted on 01 November 2023

My son had day surgery at the sunshine ward east wing to remove wire from his arm and we were greeted by a lovely and professional surgent who reassured me straight away that he would take care of my son. Nurses prior and after son's day surgery were amazing even the anythusits who explained the process. We were there for few hours, then were discharged.

  3. Review titled Ridiculous wait times

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 November 2023

Ridiculous wait times in A&E and you have no idea how long until you will be seen, could be next or could be in 3 hours. They need more doctors to reduce the wait times.

  5. Review titled Unhappy with my recent hospital stay

    by Ealing234 - Posted on 24 November 2023

In October I was taken by ambulance from my GP to West Middlesex University Hospital due to serious heart issues. Everything was great in the Acute Medical Unit (ward AMU 1). We all got on with each other and with the doctors, nurses and staff. Less than a week later at 05:30 in the morning, with all belongings piled high on top of me on the bed, I was moved upstairs to the Syon 1 ward (initially in an annex room). However, my walker was left behind in the ward to follow. When it did finally turn up it had been partially dismantled with fixings missing. Luckily both the nurse in charge of the ward and other patients all saw it take place, the nurse telling someone that it was not theirs, to put it back, it belonged to someone else. I agreed that if they fix the walker so it was useable I would say no more about it. The manager and a security worker sourced two identical fixings and the walker was actually better than before. The first full night on Syon 1 was very unnerving. For a heart monitoring ward, my monitor was never to be switched on at all while I was there. All other's monitors, including those able to reach the shower/toilet etc on their own were switched on, mine was not. All along I was constantly being asked to leave the hospital, despite not being able to stand without the walker. On the previous stay I was not allowed to leave until I had been walking with just the walking stick and not the walker for two days. In the end I was discharged against my will after 12 days, unable to stand without the walker, and with no plans in place. My brother met me and tried to sneak me into his place, but that is a sheltered accommodation housing trust building. We could not get the walker past them. Mum is 91 and it is not fair on her having me around much weaker than she is.

  6. Review titled No response to my Prostate issue after A&E assessment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 October 2023

I was in A&E on Saturday 14/10 regarding a prostate issue I had abroad (With Kidney Failure). I am using a catheter. They took all the information from the Hospital abroad and sent it on to Urology. So far no one has contacted me to either see me and complete the assessment. It was a serious issue. Is it normal not to hear anything for someone in Urology? This kind of service does not seem appropriate for the severity of what I have been through. I am very disappointed in the service all round.

Thank you for taking such good care of us in Children’s a&e. All the admin team, nursing and medical teams were really kind and caring and it was hugely reassuring with a small baby. Thank you.

  8. Review titled great medical care. completely annonymous disjointed admin

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 November 2023

I had an unexpected suspected heart attack on saturday and was admitted. Excellent care and kind. Discharged tuesday at 3. arranged my lift home. But no drugs? so waited almost 2 hours. nothing. called the ward who called the ward? nothing. the ladies at the discharge lounge called the pharmacy and were shouted at. So on the ward i’m not allowed to leave the monitor or go to the toilet. once outside the ward all care, respect and support ends? I guess these tablets could be prepared earlier, i guess pharmacy could contact me, or the ward, or deliver to the ward or something. That’s what complex and expensive it systems snd managers are paid for. instead i’m stressed, going home by bus who knows when? And i’ve had the explanation of the tablets on the ward. It just seems to go against everything described by the numerical staff and the pharmacy staff just dispense when they dispense? mental

  9. Review titled Good hospital in some ways

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Raghuvansh Soodi - Posted on 29 October 2023

In fact I had written a review earlier but want to add few more points. I had asthma attack on 27 October , and my oxygen level dropped to 88, my friend called 999, the ambulance came quickly and the staff was very very good. In A&E I being treated well, I had CT scan, and given treatment, generally I was quite happy until then. When I moved to the ward, then little problem started. Some of the nursing staff staff are very helpful but few are little rude. At least they should talk nicely with patients as we came here in pain and not here with our choice. In the end I like to mention the food, food is good as well and we have choice to choose.

  10. Review titled Impossible to get follow up care

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 September 2023

I came in for an early pregnancy loss. Scans were fine and everyone that did that sort of care was helpful. It felt very disorganised when I was diagnosed to be miscarrying and different people kept coming in and handing my information and getting me to sign forms. I was nearly sent on my way without being provided with the medication I needed. After this, I tried on three separate occasions to express my concerns about the process and was met with apathy by staff who just stated I should call after 2 weeks if I still have a positive pregnancy test. After trying to reach someone when I was unsure if what I was feeling was normal I had to reach out to another hospital and will be going to a&e there for services. I feel very let down. This was my second miscarriage in 6 months and I am extremely worried about the effects this will have on my long term fertility as I do not have children. I didn't feel like staff cared about these. I understand they often see women who have miscarried have healthy pregnancies, but I haven't experienced that and am extremely worried about side effects. Simply answering the phone or discussing this with me would have helped.

Dear writer, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sorry you've had such an experience. It is troubling to read of your experience with this service in the hospital;which has led to you not feeling cared for. It's a shame that there has been a lack of display of our core values. Please contact our PALS team (chelwest.wmpals@nhs.net) to raise this as a concern or complaint. They will be able to assist with helping you get a follow up. I will also forward this onto the service to ensure improvements in the service are made. Wishing you all the best. Camelia Patient Experience Co-ordinator
