  1. Review titled Impossible to contact

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Nick Ingram - Posted on 07 June 2023

I was referred with a heart problem in late March, had an echo early April but as of early June neither my GP nor I were given results. Meanwhile, despite my worsening condition, I was given an ‘urgent’ appointment with the cardio team in mid-October. An email to the department has been ignored and all attempts at phone contact result in being cut off or put through to a message system that won’t let you leave a message because the mailbox is constantly full.

  2. Review titled Brilliant treatment

My wife and I were admitted at 6pm last Thursday after falling down an escalator at Kings Cross Although it was incredibly busy we were thoroughly checked and treated My wife had a broken arm ,I had a broken finger and facial cuts that required stitching. All the staff we saw were caring and professional and we are so grateful to them all .We were appalled by the abuse they were receiving from a. small minority of people awaiting treatment and can only apologize on behalf of normal people who do appreciate the pressure they are under .Thanks also to the paramedics who brought us here .

  3. Review titled So happy with the speed of care & expertise

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by NANCY STANNARD - Posted on 05 March 2023

My 26 year old daughter was referred to A&E after calling 111 She was seen immediately, literally within 2 minutes of arriving and a bed was found within 2 hours. She was seen by a doctor & monitored by the doctor and 3 nurses whilst waiting. They were kind, reassuring, caring and capable. She had surgery the next day and the doctor even called her at home after discharge to check on her, give her test results and further reassure her. Exemplary! The A&E department at 11pm on the Sunday night was busy but calm and seems everyone was seen reasonably quickly. I cannot praise our NHS enough

  4. Review titled Friendly, attentive, thorough

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ben, Islington - Posted on 02 January 2023

My 86 year old mum is down from Leicester and staying with us. She has been unwell since 22 December and did not seem to be getting better. At the advice of the 111 clinician, took her to the walk in emergency clinic. We were there several hours, but the team was very thorough in investigating what the problem(s) might be. The whole team was friendly and attentive as well. And the clinician on duty was amazing. She kept checking in, asking questions and all with good humour, which out us both at our ease. I have no doubt she had a lot of other patients to deal with at the same time. I know the NHS is under strain, and applaud all the amazing people who are working so hard to deliver services, every day of the year. You really came through for us on this occasion and we are enormously appreciative. Thank you.

As usual excellent treatment by very caring staff on the 1st floor from 25 December for 2 days and then 2 more days on the 8th floor of UCH main building. My only request, please don’t wake people at midnight to take blood pressure. Wishing all the staff a Happy New Year!

  6. Review titled great medical team at uchl, a&e - utc

Rated 5 stars out of 5

First of all, the waiting time was reasonable which is very important for an A&E patient. I've been welcomed be a very good male nurse who sent me for an X-ray. The Radiology staff was amazing. Quick, accommodating and very kind. Then, after a short while, a lady nurse or doctor took me over and discussed with me on the result of the X-ray for my foot. I was in pain and could not walk properly, and I was explained what is the meaning of the X-ray, and assured that my GP will receive a request to refer me back to be seen by a specialist. I cannot praise them enough. The three members of the medical staff did their job incredibly well, and therefore they'll get a clean 5* Review from me. Thank you!!

  7. Review titled Fantastic and efficient service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Emmanuel - Posted on 27 October 2022

I hobbled to the hospital A/E with severe abdominal and back pain, the dept. appeared quite busy but v. efficient, there was a plethora of people with various perceived ailments , the wait time for reception, triage and to see a Doctor wasn't long at all. All the staff were very pleasant and patient. The v well mannered young doctor did a very thorough assessment before sending me on my merry way (co-dydramol has that effect). Highly impressed. Thanks Doc, your a star!

  8. Review titled Huge waiting times due to lack of staff

by Krupion - Posted on 27 July 2022

Wife broke her knee cap and was taken to UCLH, massive queue at A&E, 100 plus, one nurse taking details. Huge waiting times due to lack of staff we were told. Once we got in and sent to a ward the nurse was of unbelievable help to us, arranging and sorting every problem. I was stunned that A&E could be so poorly staffed and run whilst the staff on the ward could be so efficient and helpful. I would have preferred to see more hospital executives hands-on in A&E, giving a hand to the staff.

  9. Review titled Outstanding Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Brian Francis - Posted on 13 June 2022

I had an 'intervention' on the 9th of June current. I don't have enough words to praise both the Surgeon, the Anaesthetist and the entire Nurse team who looked after me. Their kindness, warm attention and encouragement could not have been better. Following the surgery, I spent one night in the ICU (on the 6th floor) and then 2 more nights in a gastrointestinal ward (on the 7th floor). Both the Nurses and the visiting Doctor were wonderfully kind and helpful. Apart from the personal kindness and professionalism of individual personnel, what is also outstanding about the UCLH care is the exceptionally well functioning team-work ! Remarkable ! Thank you, UCLH !!!

  10. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by The lady in bed 4 - Posted on 06 May 2022

I was an in-patient in Ward T14 North, Trauma Ward, due to an ear problem. The nursing staff and level of care were excellent, and I was well looked after. My one concern is that I wasn't given information upon discharge, telling me what to expect with regard to the ear problem and that it would take time to settle down even after completing my course of antibiotics. I had to seek out advice from my GP after I was back home (and contacting a GP nowadays is time-consuming and difficult).
