Was seen in Jasmine suit today. All of the staff from reception to nursing staff were warm and helpful. They went out of their way to make me comfortable. The procedure was quick. Thank you

  2. Review titled Most pleasant, friendly, and helpful nurses and staff.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Peter - Posted on 13 April 2024

Attended Accident and Emergency (a&e) this Saturday morning at about 09:15, concerned about minor chest pains that had been occasionally occurring over 5 weeks. Virtually everyone was pleasant, friendly, and helpful. Within 15 minutes had an ecg, given by the one nurse who was the only exception. She was polite & busied herself with preforming the ecg, only perhaps lacking the friendliness of the other nurses and staff. The Triage nurse was most friendly, jolly, and efficient. After a while I was admitted to the Same Day Emergency Care unit (sdec), which was quieter than a&e and more comfortable. Again, all the nurses and staff were great. Gave a blood sample to test for Troponin. Unfortunately, the earlier a&e ecg data couldn't be found, but that wasn't any problem as another ecg was easily performed in sdec. After a chest X-ray and speaking to a doctor, I was discharged at about 14:00. While in sdec I was given a cup of tea and light lunch. Having had a heart attack and triple bypass surgery 7 years ago, I'd taken a good book to read and was therefore well prepared for the inevitable, but understandable, waiting for test and for the doctor's diagnosis. Therefore, giving my big thanks to all Stepping Hill nurses and staff today for making my visit as pleasant and comfortable as possible in a&e and sdec.

I just want to say thankyou to the Doctor and the two nurses who were working in the Jasmine Suite on the 18.04.2024. I think we are so quick to leave bad feedback and never the good. Thankyou so much for making me feel so calm and at ease from the moment I walked into the clinic. Thankyou for making me feel comfortable and at ease the procedure was over so quickly and painless. I hope this gets back to you thankyou again

My elderly Mother was seen and treated brilliantly in the Accident Emergency & Stroke Depts. Their care, consideration and knowledge went above and beyond. I have never seen such kind and thorough doctors before and am very, very grateful.

  5. Review titled Lovely staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Amanda - Posted on 09 March 2024

I was admitted to this ward after falling from a ladder and caused myself fractures to my spine and thumb I was made to feel comfortable and extremely well looked after and nothing was too much trouble the ward was impeccably clean with a very thorough and friendly cleaner . The food was lovely even though I couldn’t have two of the meals due to being too late for the first but provided with a lovely sandwich to nil by mouth but after my operation they rushed to make me a cup of tea and another lovely sandwich. The staff are always happy to help to sorting out medication and referrals for future appointments. The night staff are amazing and never stopped constantly checking on you. This is my first admittance to this hospital and it will now be my go to and preferred hospital in the future There was only one issue I had which was one member of staff who was very rude to my partner and daughter who came to the evening visit and I hadn’t returned back from theatre until near the end of visiting obviously my family were concerned about me and were helping me to get into bed and settle for the evening with this one nurse who insisted that they went straight away I did say they were helping me she replied it’s a women’s ward so you need to leave therefore my partner who felt very uncomfortable said he would go while my daughter helped me to get undressed. Maybe a little understanding in this case should have been the way to go. But I won’t let one person ruin my overall experience of this ward. Thank you

  7. Review titled Worst a+e in england.

Rated 1 star out of 5

2 times in one week i attended a+e for different problems with my health and both times i was misinformed on the correct waiting times. 6+ hours in one night is no the turn around for an a+e department. Disrespectful staff when you ask about what happening with your case. rude abrupt answers with no help from the lady at main reception.

Needed to attend children’s ED with my 4 year old due to an injury. She was cared for swiftly by kind and knowledgeable members of staff. The waiting room was clean and welcoming for little children.

  9. Review titled Amazing nurses on c5

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by HAYLEY - Posted on 14 March 2024

I am needle phobic and have awful veins. Two amazing nurses helped me, nothing was too much trouble. They took time, gave me respect, understood my phobia, were kind and best of all - they got my blood. One held my hand whilst the other sat on the floor (I do feel bad about that bit, but am grateful!) to get my sample. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness, professionalism and support during this procedure that I found difficult. Some people in the past have had no understanding of needle phobia, but the nurses on c5 do have this and it makes a huge difference. Thank you so much.

  10. Review titled Avoid if you value your health

Rated 1 star out of 5

Do not under any circumstances agree to go on Ward d8 at Stepping Hill. Yes the majority of the Staff are lovely, but there a couple who really let the rest of the team down. I was transferred there from d6, I was supposed to have treatment at 5pm and 7pm - these times were very very very specific on the information leaflet. The Staff thought 6pm and 9.30pm was close enough. That was night 1. Night 2 I was in pain, the Dr that arrived tried prescribing me codeine - despite me already being on tramadol. I made a comment about him having a baby face and looking about 15 - to then spend 10 minutes listening to him and a Nurse Totally totally slating me, that I was a horrible person etc. If I could hear them so could everyone else. Medications were often late - so meals when I should have been able to eat I couldn't because I'd not had my lansoprazole. I was in a lot of pain Weds night as I said so got zero sleep, the Dr from Gastro agreed to do bloods yesterday and then sent me home in a lot of pain - despite thinking I may have gallstones. This is probably because this was unrelated to what I went in with. Now I've found out she lied to me - you Don't get a scan quicker as an Outpatient than you do as an Inpatient
