  1. Review titled Excellent care of my two year old

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Grace - Posted on 27 November 2023

I have visited the hospital a few times with my daughter who is nearly two, including a number of visits to Paediatric A&E for various reasons, plus an appointment at the allergy clinic. Each time I have been really impressed and felt that we’ve been in very safe hands. The care and compassion from all staff has been really great. It’s not easy when your little one is unwell and all the staff have always been so kind to me whilst taking care of my daughter’s needs. Thank you so very much.

I have no idea of the service as I can't get through on the phone. The online a+e phone number is wrong anyway.

  3. Review titled Excellent practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I came in with a bad knee and the care and service I received was 10 out of 10 across the board. Absolutely faultless. I saw 5 or 6 different members of staff and they were all brilliant. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

  4. Review titled Wonderful treatment

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Was advised by 111 to take my very unwell husband to Accident & Emergency on bank holiday Monday. He was seen with 15mins to have blood tests and was given intravenous antibiotics and fluids immediately. Everyone treated him so well and even though so busy they made time for us. He was moved into Majors for one night then to a1 where the staff were not as kind or patient. Then thankfully to a room on his own in b1 where everyone was so lovely. He was very poorly with sepsis and the care was fantastic.

  6. Review titled Confused

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I have an appointment around 08:40am, came early about 5min and went to reception to register told me to “have a sit and wait to be called”.( phlebotomy clinic) been waiting almost an hour 1/35min so went to the receptionist and ask why I haven’t been called, receptionist told me that I didn’t show up??? Told her that I’ve been setting for also 1hr 35min. Then she took my blood form and give it to one of the male staff after they taken my bloods, the male staff said that monitor is not working properly so I don’t know which one is saying or telling the truth but nevertheless they are very apologetic about what happened but it shouldn’t happen because I’m supposed to have “blood pasting” for 12hrs. So I came there very hungry expecting that I will finished before 9am. But I was very disappointed about what happened I wasn’t angry but disappointed. Hope this thing will be lesson learned for everyone.

  7. Review titled Condescending 'care'

Rated 1 star out of 5

We waited 7 hours in urgent care/A&E for a burn we suspected was infected. After that wait we were met with a condescending nurse. Quizzed my partner over infections like an uppity school teacher. For someone who struggles with hospitals it was an upsetting and rude experience, when we were just following the NHS website/111s advice.

Had an internal referral from immunology to rheumatology. Appointment came quickly. On the day there was major traffic.. out of my control. I am referred here as it is closer to my work as I travel a distance for work. I was 15 mins late. I called twice to let them know, this didn’t stop the consultant making sure I know how it affected his clinic. Made me feel small. Now wants to refer me to hospital back home which means I have to miss even more work to attend. Even tho I work not far from this hospital and it’s more convenient. Never been late for an appointment in immunology. It was once. I think some lessons in how to speak to people might come in handy.

Absolutely one big joke. I'm 37 weeks pregnant I came to a&e department with my husband as he suddenly lost his avability to see anything. He had a huge headache every day since over a month his been told by doctors to take only paracetamol as everything is ok. Now he can't see. We have been waiting already 6h just for the blood and pressure be taken. Minimum waiting time 4h we have been told. There is so many people in pain around and doctors seem to have a time for everything. Noone is rushing everything is done super slow even walk. This is just a joke. Noo e can tell us how long from now we will be still waiting could be another 6h. Other thin is the ho else's peopke were here doing a party drinking alcohol playing music shouting. Nothing was done about it receptionist seemed absolutely fi e with it, security wasn't even called. It's so awfull what's happening in here I feel like people can lictuarly die here and nothing will be done really. Do not come to this hospital.
