Staff are always helpful and very reassuring. They keep you at ease and answer any questions you have no matter how stupid they may seem. Brilliant services every time!

My son at 6 weeks old was very poorly and needed urgent care, if it was for south tyneside hospital being as close ass it is I would of been worried of taking him to Sunderland hospital, we were seen quick and officiant got him diagnosed and then an ambulance to Sunderland where we spent 2 nights, but if it wasn't for the doctors and nurses at South tyneside I don't no what I would of done so I am forever thankful to them all and it needs to remain open for the the rest like mothers that can't get to Sunderland hospital unless they drive

Nurses and doctors are amazing in childrens A&E couldnt imagine not having this centre, if this centre was to move or shut down i would not be able to get my children seen as i dont have any transport to any other hospital

Referred from my GP’s to attend the hospital to rule out that there wasn’t anything sinister happening to me. From the reception staff to nurses and doctors in A&E to the staff in X-ray and Pharmacy everyone was exceptional and efficient. I was diagnosed and treated within an hour and a half which is incredible. Thank you

From entering the hospital staff were incredibly caring. The service we received was fantastic and reassuring. A true asset to South Shields.

I attended with my 7 month old baby boy after seeing a GP the day prior and being told he had a viral infection and didn’t need antibiotics. The nurse ensured my baby had a thorough check up, diagnosed him very swiftly, administered medication there and then to reduce his temperature and kept him in there care until they were satisfied that his temperature was at a normal level. They then prescribed antibiotics. They were absolutely great with both me and him. I believe the children’s urgent care is a vital service at South Tyneside Hospital and the staff there are an asset to the NHS

It is the only accident and emergency facility that I could get to and I was treated with great care and staff who listened to my symptoms where my gp did not, they helped get a possible diagnosis after months of not being taken seriously.

Absolutely god send to have this children a&e as we need this in South Tyneside as gps we can't get in to half the time we need to keep this open

We were at the main reception at about 13.00hrs on 28.3. The Receptionist on duty was exceptionally professional and courteous. Interacting with her showed me how bad some of my experiences have been. She was amazing.
