  1. Review titled Brilliant care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I recently had an MRI appointment. I am claustrophobic, needless to say I couldn’t go through with the appointment. I was quickly given another appointment and told by the wonderful radiographer that they would try another way of helping me. The team that looked after me and performed the MRI were beyond words. I had such care and consideration and kindness. I cannot thank them enough. Please pass on my message to Blue Sky Imaging. Brilliant.

My mum recently had a 10 day hospital stay on iauu, ward 5 & ward 25. She received excellent care from all staff who looked after her when she was very poorly and our family was kept informed at all times with what was happening. You have all helped my mum to get home and on her way to a full recovery. We cannot thank you all enough.

  3. Review titled Better than I expected

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had a MyoSure procedure done this month at Ward 18 because I had two bigger and a lot of smaller fibroids. I had one removed two years ago in Grimsby but there were others aswell and had to wait two years for an other procedure. The day of surgery started smoothly, nurses and doctors came and asked loads of questions and explained everything in details about what is going to happen. There were six of us in the room and waiting for my turn from early morning was quite long, it was mid afternoon when I was taken up to the theatre. By that time I was tired, hungry and thirsty and just wanted to get over of it. The anaesthetic doctor was kind and caring and he did everything to make me feel better and ease my anxiety. All the staff up in the theatre was kind and before I went to sleep we had a bit of a laugh too. When I woke up there was a nurse there to look after me and keep me warm as I felt freezing cold. The doctor who did the surgery was there to explain what was done and what to expect in the next coming week. Back at the ward the nurses kept me warm and comfy and finally after almost 20 hours of fasting I got a coffee, a sandwich, some biscuits and water. That was all I could eat, I was more thirsty than hungry. The nurses kept checking on me and if I needed anything they helped me. At discharge I was told everything in details what and how to do at home, what to look for if something goes wrong and where to seek medical help. Everybody was absolutely caring and I felt I was in good hands. Thank you so much for looking after me well and for all your hard work 💖

  4. Review titled Great Practise

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Arrived by ambulance and subsequently didn't have a choice on hospital. Was alone in a place I'd never been to before. Hospital was very clean, staff were always present, waiting times weren't horrific. Felt very comfortable. Porters were arranged as I was unwell and confused on locations. Everyone was very supportive and friendly. Processes were explained. A very clean, very calm experience. Thank you

I would wish to thank all the staff on ward 25 for the excellent care and treatment they gave my wife, from the registrar to the hospital support staff they all performed their duties to the highest standards. From when she arrived at SDEC to her discharge 2 weeks later the level of professionalism has been exceptional.

Just been at ophthalmology with my 2 year old for her appointment. All the staff went above and beyond to help settle her and were very patient. I can’t praise them enough. Thank you for your kindness and patience.

  7. Review titled Excellent care in Ward 18

Rated 5 stars out of 5

As a day patient for a urology procedure under anaesthetic, I experienced superb care in Ward 18. The staff team appeared to have a great esprit de corps. Nurses, assistants and cleaners all so cheery and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. And this applied to the anaesthetist and surgeon as well as the staff in the recovery room. The porter who wheeled me as well. Procedures were explained, clearly advice had been sought from senior anaesthetic colleagues and I had every reason to feel confident of the treatment. Not every detail went according to plan but things were quickly dealt with. And the nurse's explanation at discharge was detailed and reassuring. My thanks to everyone involved!

  8. Review titled Fantastic staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was admitted and ended up on Ward 5. I can't say enough about the staff on this unit. They were all kind, caring, efficient. Sometimes patients are not the nicest people and on more than one occasion I witnessed staff comforting people who were stressed and fearful. Thank you for taking such good care of me.

  9. Review titled Horrible experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

My GP doctor recently referred me to the cardiology to get an echocardiogram. I had the appointment yesterday. However, this experience was horrible. The appointment was extremely painful for me. I was even shaking with pain and getting lightheaded. I even started to cry from the pain of the probe digging into my chest. I have googled whether it is normal to be left bruised after an echocardiogram, however Google has told me that it is in fact not normal to be left with a bruise. My whole left chest aches and the bruise just keeps getting darker and more tender to the touch. I’m not sure whether I am just extremely sensitive to pain, I never used to be. But at the end of the day, I don’t believe any professional should be leaving bruises on my body, especially at the hospital. I also felt that the doctor/nurse could have been more understanding, when she noticed I had started to cry, and given me a moment to collect myself instead of continuing and causing me more pain. Maybe I should have spoken up, but it was just me in that appointment with her and I’m also still quite young and only recently have started to go into my appointments alone. I have had family suggest making a formal complaint, but I don’t wish to go through all the drama of doing so.

  10. Review titled Amazing staff

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Felicity Booth - Posted on 07 February 2025

I just want to say how amazing the staff were today when I brought my little boy in to A&E with a dog bite. We was seen so quickly. My little boy was so upset and wouldn’t stop crying but they did everything to try and settle him. As we was leaving one of the male nurses gave my boy and lion teddy and he hasn’t let it go since. Amazing service and such kind staff.
