Review titled Great experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Pamela Whitehead - Posted on 12 October 2023
I had a blood test at Heanor Fire Station I was extremely nervous as o always have a problem giving blood but on this occasion the lady who took blood was fantastic it was from my hand which normally hurts but thus time I was amazed as I felt nothing. She was kind gentle and truly amazing. My faith has been restored in giving blood.

Review titled Labour ward were fantastic but ward 314 not so much
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 19 November 2023
When I was in labour and things did not go to plan the labour ward were absolutely brilliant. When the alarm was pulled the team that were present were phenomenal. I could not fault them!! Thank you!! However as for ward 314 before and after the birth there was no care. No one came to check on me throughout my stay. I know there is a lot of people on the ward but the lack of care was shocking. The curtains were constantly closed which did not bother me, but with that no staff member would have known if I was okay. They would not have known if I was struggling being a new parent as when they did come on the ward they couldn't see me. I was kept on for 1 day after the birth and I would have received more care and support at home than ward 314. Staff were either chatting, ordering pizza or on their phones whenever I went to find a staff member rather than proactively coming to check on their patients. Appalling!

Review titled Mixed feelings about the practice
Rated 2 stars out of 5

Went with my relative to the a&e around 9:00 am on Friday . About 6p.m get diagnosed with apendictitis, moved to SAU,then to the ward 305 .Suppose to have a laparoscopic surgery to remove the appendix following day..... Didn't happen because of long list Developed high temperature , being only on IV paracetamol in agony, later on I V antibiotics, promised will go to the surgery later afternoon, not eating or drinking of course, then promised next day(Sunday) ..... still waiting with promise of a Sundays list ,then night list for the surgery ..still in agony .Rushed Monday morning finally to the theatre but the appendix burst... They should not wait that long, keeping the pt in agony ..... The whole weekend, I really think this was cruel to the pt and dangerous even life treating, could develop sepsis.... Staff on the ward was great, really apologetic but helpless with the "weekend" situation

Our family would like to thank the staff of Ward 2 of the Florence Nightingale Community Hospice for the amazing care they took of our beloved Dad as well as the support they provided for all the family members. His peaceful death and our ability to cope and accept it is testament to their professionalism and genuine empathy.

Attended for minor hand surgery 6/10/23 at the Pulver Taft Hand Day Case Ward. From the moment I arrived they were the most professional, caring, polite and simply wonderful staff, they put me at ease, explained everything and constantly checked on my well being . Such lovely caring people I cannot speak highly enough of them. Please will you pass this on, I'm sure they treat every patient in the same wonderful way but not all will take the time to tell you.

Review titled Highest quality treatment
by Vix99 - Posted on 03 November 2023
I attended for laproscopic surgery with one night stay towards the end of October 2023. From the first minute, the clinic was inviting, filled with reassuring, warm, and professional staff. I was looked after so much my anxiety melted away. I was prepared, able to see the surgeon and anaesthetic team, and my surgery was amazing! I had no cough, pain, or difficulties at all. This is my 5th operation, and I was anxious but felt so cared for, I was able to discuss everything and was told I would be well looked after by such an efficient team all my doubts were allayed. During the whole process, there was a constant 'cushion' of care and attentiveness, such that my experience has given me confidence and gratitude. The expertise and skill set is no doubt why I'm feeling my recovery is progressing so well. I'm healing brilliantly. I'm so grateful to every member of the fantastic staff at Derby Royal. Simply the Best. Thank you

Review titled A&E Experience
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 26 October 2023
I took my son in law to the Derby Royal A&E last night at approximately 10.00pm. He thought he had some metal in his eye from work he is an electrical engineer. We were sent to the blue room and left waiting after around 2hrs waiting we were moved back to the arrivals waiting room and just left. We watched ambulances arrive and staff were treating people on or directly from ambulances which we assumed would be emergencies but they couldn’t all have been. We waiting for another 2-3 hrs and left he had to get up for work the following day. At 7.30 this morning j26:10/23 he received a call from the hospital wanting to know if he was still at the hospital which would have been 9+hrs. The whole experience was a complete joke and we just pray we never have to visit the place in a life or death situation. We have both paid everything into the system expecting some sort of help when needed bu no.
