I would like to give my sincere thanks to all the doctors/surgeons operating theatre staff and nurses at orpington hospital for their excellent service when igad my hand operation there on 10th april 2024.many thanks John Pettitt

I received a letter about an abnormal smear and was told id need a colposcopy and that id get an appt within 4 weeks. I rang the colposcopy dead on 4 weeks as id not had an appt and I was really panicking. The lady i spoke to was amazing, not only did she reassure me and explain that you were busy, she didnt make me feel silly or a nuisance when i said how worried id been. She then managed to book me in on a cancellation within 2 days. I couldnt have been more relieved. Often people are dismissive or short (I know everyone is busy) but this lady honestly was so compassionate, helpful and time generous. I hope she gets to hear how appreciated she is xx

I have nothing but praise for my experience of having a total prosthetic replacement hip joint. Everyone really knew what they were doing and did it extremely well -from the surgeon, the theatre professionals, nurses, carers, caterers to cleaners - and everyone was caring and kind. I am also extremely grateful for the wonderful care received.

Here we are again waiting to see doctor. Test were done first and the waiting area was full and old people standing. It was crammed and a breeding place for germs and infections. This department is never on time. And you are just left waiting. The tv screens to tell people when to be called do not operate. Don’t know how much that cost the NHS. But they aren’t working and never seem able to do. So far 1/1/2 hours wait and the way it’s going another 1/1/2 to go. Appalling department.

My wife attended Orpington Hospital appointment in the neurology department on 4th January 2024. Appointment time was 10am. By this time she was seen by nurses who checked blood pressure which was very high. By 10.20 am she was greeted by the senior doctor in a most friendly and attentive manner throughout. It was decided that a blood test was required, also x-rays and advice was given to urgently monitor my wife blood pressure problem. We visited the blood test department and only waited three mins. Then straight to X-ray department and waited only five mins. All in all my wife was in the hospital for about one hour. I doubt any private hospital could have proved a better service. If this can be the future intentions of the NHS then things are starting to work. To finish things off the Doctor who treated my wife later telephoned her at home to check how her blood pressure was. Thanks Orpington great service.

Terrible experience from start to finish. Complete lack of care for my elderly mother and unless family members are on the case the whole time patients are left in bed all day, test results are lost, dressings are not being changed and different information depending on who you speak to. Not an experience I would wish to repeat.

I was an inpatient today for complexed hand surgery. The care in every aspect could not be any higher.

We attended eye clinic in June 2023 after getting there and waiting we were told the doctors were not there and was told to rebook. We then rebooked 3weeks later and the sat and waited 2hours to see doctor. Something needs sorting

Very quick service and. Extremely good services from the 2 nurses looking after me. I was looked after and kept informed throughout the time there.

I wished to cancel appointment as I would be on holiday,I tried various phone numbers myself approx 12 times, my son also carried on trying while I was away. In total 20 plus calls, we were cut off 4 times after waiting 20-35 mins. No message or email service I find this unacceptable. Wrote a letter in the end when I returned from hol don’t know what else I can do . Do they purposely not have email contact ? I must add once appointment is attended the treatment by all staff is excellent,but admin contact needs attention.
