  1. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ann Pearce - Posted on 09 November 2023

I recently attended for a routine cataract op which developed complications and resulted in a 2 hour op with a follow op 2 weeks later. The medical staff were very professional, efficient, caring and reassuring. I was kept informed about what was happening, and at every step problems/procedures/aftercare/ medications were fully explained. The consultants gave me as much time as I needed and encouraged me to ask questions. I was given 3 contact numbers in case of any concerns or problems. Also, it is reassuring to know that the specialist glaucoma nurses are at the end of a phone; when I had problem sourcing medication they got back to me the same day and solved the problem in 24 hours. I can't thank and praise the staff highly enough .

Today I visited emergency department Manchester royal eye hospital. I would like to say thank you very much to all staff I met there- receptionist, care, nurse, pharmacists ,doctor. Everything they did were quickly and professional. The young female lady doctor was so great, clever, educated, professional. She helped me a lot, answered of my questions and gave useful recommendations. Eventually after days with pain and without treatment I got treatment. And no long waiting time.

  3. Review titled Exemplary

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Absolutely excellent care at Manchester Eye Hospital. The Optimologist & trainee were extremely good & we're so grateful to them. The patient I attended with had a piece of metal deep into his eye. He'd visited Specsavers previously whom were also very good but they were unable to get it out. The Trainee guided by the Optimologist at the Eye Hospital managed to get it out successfully & very carefully. Reception staff were also good & the wait time from entry to departure was 90 minutes in total. I would highly recommend them & would like to also thank them for such a great service

Extremely glad that I had my cataract op at this outstanding hospital. Day of surgery ward was immaculate - organised and efficient . Staff were great very helpful including giving me cups of teas and cheese sandwich . Where hospital came into its own was the marvellous way they helped me when I had serious problems locating prescribed eye drops that were totally unobtainable where I live . The eye drops according to pharmacy’s I contacted were out of production nationally The ward staff whent more than the extra mile in helping me by providing on two occasions eye drops
