Review titled Endoscopy Department
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sally - Posted on 24 January 2025
My husband, who has Parkinson’s Disease, had a colonoscopy today & was not in a good place when we arrived (his meds routine had necessarily been disrupted). Lovely admitting nurse (a real gem 😉) put him at ease, explained everything very clearly & looked after him so well. Thankyou!

Review titled Thank you
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was recently signed off from the care of the Department of Urology, who have been monitoring me since the successful removal of my cancerous prostate gland at the Lister Hospital in December 2016. I would like to thank everyone in the Urology Department for their knowledge and expertise, and for the excellent care I received during the entire process. At every stage of my treatment I have felt confident and well cared for by experts. I owe them all years of life that I would not have enjoyed without their care.

Review titled Video Consultation with Clinical Haematology
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by John D Bevan - Posted on 03 January 2025
I have just received a posted letter inviting me to a video consultation with a Haematologist later this month. I welcome this initiative, as it saves me time and avoids my picking up an infection at the hospital. However I have three comments to make: 1. I was told by a posted letter. I have a mobile phone and email address. The trust could save money by using one of these ways of contacting me instead of using the post. 2. I tried to test my equipment at 12:45 on Jan 3. I could not do so. I was shown a screen saying the consultation room was closed, call back Monday. 3. In the associated FAQ's is a list of Lister dept's. Clinical Haematology was not amongst them - it should be! I hope this initiative is a success.

Review titled Appointments

I have now been holding on for almost an hour your appointment line is awful. I want to check up on an appointment why is the department so slow. You need more staff. Why isn't there somewhere on the website to check appointments. Not the patient hub.

Review titled X ray and phlebotomy
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Nicola - Posted on 16 January 2025
I attended the hospital for a blood test and a walk in x ray. Lister has been my local hospital all my life, and unfortunately I have required a lot of blood tests over the years. Historically the queues at lister for this have been so long that I would drive to Hertford as it was quicker to travel there than wait. Yesterday however, I had a blood test and x ray inside an hour! Very impressed. The people I dealt with seemed efficient and professional. Seems like great improvements have been made in managing waiting times in both these departments and it was very appreciated. Thank you.

Review titled appointments

I visited orthopedic department in early January for the second time , I was told that I will need MRI to be done on my nee that has been bothering for long time. I have not heard anything for the appointment and anytime I call to check, I am caller 28 or 27 , they do not have service that they can call me and i do not need to wait. It is very uncomfortable for me this unnecessary waiting for appointment, I feel lost in the system and no one cares about my pain. It feels like these days NHS is mote interested and busy on doing paperwork than truly checking and caring bout patients.

Review titled Excellent care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Andrea Long - Posted on 13 December 2024
We brought my father into adult urgent care centre . We had battled with GPs all day. We were seen quickly and by kind caring nurses . Then the doctor (female GP specialist but can’t remember name) saw us and was thorough , sensible and gave us plenty of time. My mum and I attended as dad is very deaf and we had lots of questions. The doctor was excellent and we would like to say a massive thank you. X

Review titled Supportive and patient
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lea Prior - Posted on 03 December 2024
I have many underlying health conditions and extreme anxiety so the prospect of having a tooth extraction in theatre was very frightening. The team in the day care surgery were friendly, reassuring and extremely patient with me. They kept me informed, calm and treated me with the greatest respect. As a result I had the procedure without problems. I cannot thank them all enough, they made a very daunting prospect so much easier with their care and attention, thank you all so much.

Review titled Awful

Left me in AMC/resus until 10 at night. Horrible service. Only one nurse was on the ward. Bless her heart... Stabbed needles in my arm and had to wait longer for medicine. I need to get home.
