Review titled Heart attack
by A very grateful man. - Posted on 04 January 2024
In December I had a heart attack whilst in the garden. Got to A&E at Lincoln Hospital and eventually put on the Johnson Cardiology ward. I was very scared but felt in safe hands! Early in the Friday morning I had a angiogram procedure where a blocked artery to my heart was diagnosed. The consultant managed to unblock the artery and fit stents. On the road now to recovery and lifestyle change. I cannot thank the Drs and nurses enough who looked after me. Simply amazing people!

Review titled Fantastic service at The Cardiac Short Stay
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Rick Turner - Posted on 03 December 2023
I cannot thank the staff enough for the outstanding care, patience, professionalism and friendliness, I experienced during my recent heart stent. The hospital is under a lot of pressure with a lack of beds, understaffing and too many patients. Despite this the staff gave a fantastic service and I grateful to them that I am back home and recovering.

Review titled A&E Lincoln County Hospital
by POACHER6399 - Posted on 16 November 2023
Having had an ECG for chest pains from an ambulance post a call to the 111 service ( an ambulance which arrived in 15 minutes and were very professional) I arrived in hospital for "more tests". I was triaged very quickly and had another ECG. That afternoon I was subjected to an x Ray and a series of blood tests . All staff were courteous and professional especially those in the Day A&E unit. They even found time to give me a cuppa and a sandwich whilst finding a charger for my phone so I could call my wife. Excellent professional service with a significant number of diagnostics done in a relatively short period of time.

Review titled Excellent Hip Replacement
by airforce man - Posted on 06 November 2023
I had been experiencing hip pain for a few years so eventually after consulting my GP I was sent to a local physio. Having carried out exercises that he recommended for a while, which did not help, he suggested I go back to my GP to say that the exercises were not helping and so having had an x ray it was discovered that I had severe osteoarthritis in my hip. I was then given an appointment at my Lincoln hospital who gave me choices of extra physio, injections or an operation for a full hip replacement. I went for the full operation. Everything proceeded quickly after that and I was given a place at Grantham Hospital at the end of October. On arrival I was given excellent attention by everyone involved with my operation. I cannot praise the hospital enough for their kindness and professional conduct.

Dear airforce man Thank you for your really amazing comments for the unit and I will ensure they are all shared with the team – I hope you are recovering well as it sounds as though you went through a lot of pain and different ways of change to your routine and lifestyle to try and get the hip comfortable and pain free before you went for full surgery. Thankfully it’s all over now and you are, hopefully, getting the benefits of this and back to your normal routine Please take care Kr Julie

Review titled My Delivery
by Uzair625 - Posted on 29 December 2023
I was feeling pain in my lower abdomen like period pain. The whole day it continued and at night - 1:15 am - my water bag breaks and I went to the hospital immediately. At the hospital they shifted me in labour ward. The pain was unbearable for me but my Allah was with me. He gave me the strength to bear it and at 6:57 am my baby girl was here in this world. I’m writing this story just to say thank you to the all the staff of Lincoln county hospital. They all were very kind and supportive. They guide me in true sense. Breast feeding journey was very good and they guide me in a very good way. All the midwifes were very polite and supportive. I pray to Allah May this hospital and staff gets more success.

Review titled Poor procedures
by Dickie1964 - Posted on 24 November 2023
The procedure (transperineal prostate biopsy) was done okay, but I found the surrounding process to be slipshod. Turned up at Lincoln at 17:00 for booked post-MRI appointment and records not available, so a wasted journey. Was told I'd been re-booked by the consultant for the following week. But no time or date given or paperwork / SMS sent, had to chase up that appointment. Referred for biopsy at Lincoln. Got SMS. Arrived at 08:30 but told the clinician had been delayed arriving in traffic. The clinician arrived about 08:45. Saw nurse for paperwork about 09:15 and told I was next in, but they then called 3rd patient through about 09:30. I ended up going in at 10:30 (over 1.5 hrs late). A big sign in waiting room stated that you will be called strictly by appointment order not arrival etc. No reason given as to why my appointment order changed and I was further delayed. I can only assume that letting patient 3 through first meant they were not late in, and I was already, so looks better for stats. Letter and paperwork for missing post-MRI appointment and the biopsy instructions / paperwork both arrived 9 days and 2 days after both events respectively!

Review titled Absolutely excellent experience
by Dansettemajor - Posted on 28 November 2023
Absolutely excellent experience at a time when I was very anxious. From the receptionist, to the nursing staff, the phlebotomist, the anaesthetics team, the Surgical team, the Forward Waiting team, the Theatre team, the Recovery team, the ward team, and housekeeper; they were all fantastic, empathetic, compassionate and extremely caring and professional. I could not have asked for a better team to look after me.

Review titled Remained friendly and assuring throughout
by ChelseaBlue - Posted on 23 November 2023
My visit came about after a routine dental check, where my dentist discovered a large ulcer at the back of my tongue about which I was not aware. She referred me to my local hospital, (Grantham and District) who advised me that, although they believed there was no cause for concern, 100% sure was better than 95%, resulting in my being referred to Lincoln for a biopsy. Understandably, I was anxious about this as most of us are, what will they find, I'm not in control. I needn't have worried. Everything was fully explained before hand, and even at this stage I was given the option not to go ahead. First of all my tongue was numbed by injections (an invigorating experience). After this, I felt very little of what was happening, however, the numbness did not prevent my hyper gagging reflex. The team were very patient with me over this and gave me brief pauses when needed. Eventually, the tissue sample had been taken and it was time for the stitch up. This was slightly problematic as, each time the needle was pushed in to apply the stitches, it was difficult to stop the bleeding despite my not taking blood thinning medication. The result was I finished with my tongue out with a nurse hanging on the end squeezing it with a piece of gauze. This may seem somewhat a light hearted explanation, but in spite of everything, I had been completely put at ease. When the procedure was complete, I was given a support pack with information about what I should do in the coming days, and what action I should take if I had any issues or cause for concern. Now it's a case of waiting for the results, but I'm sure that once the stitches have dissolved, and the discomfort gone, I will be very glad I had it done. A big thank you to each member of the team for their professionalism and the ability to remain friendly and assuring throughout the experience.

Review titled Didn’t help me
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Michael Knight - Posted on 23 March 2024
They ruled out anything life threatening, then sent me back to my G.P. To deal with my allergic rhinitis. I had already tried everything my G.P. suggested before being referred to ENT. I think ENT could have helped me if they wanted to.
