Review titled Excellent!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 04 May 2025
My mum attended a&e as she had a very fast rate. The care she received was exceptional and we are so thankful for the service provided. Everyone we came into contact with was excellent. From check in, to triage, resus, Majors 4 (flex) and cardiology. Can’t fault the care she was given. Thank you!

Review titled Brilliant treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mickey Riff Raff - Posted on 09 May 2025
I had pain relief injections today in the Day Case unit. The whole team were so relaxing and very funny which made the procedure so easy to bear. At the same time they were very professional and caring and showed great expertise. It's a great shame that you can't mention names but I understand the reasons. My previous experiences have been exactly as I have written and it just shows that if you show the team your respect and try and make them laugh that will be reciprocated. It must be very difficult for them to remain so professional and understanding given the amount of patients they have to deal with. I have the utmost respect for the whole team and I am very sorry that one of them is retiring. I look forward to my next visit. Thank you all

Review titled Amazing HCA
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Claire foster - Posted on 28 April 2025
During my stay at KGH, I was in immense pain and struggling physically and mentally though my hysterectomy procedure, I had an awfully painful day and the HCA on Fotheringhay ward was amazing, she went above and beyond for me, she dropped what she was doing and helped give me a freshen up, which to me meant the world, she was there to hold my hand when i needed one the most and held me when I cried, it had really been a hard day and she was with me every step making sure I was ok and had everything I needed. She made me stay on Fotheringhay ward mich more pleasant.

Review titled Great experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5

My 91 yo mother was admitted to A&E 25th April 6.30 pm and was seen by a wonderful doctor. I can’t thank him enough for his kindness, patience and gentleness with my mum. It was very clear he understood my mum’s needs and was concerned they were met. Friday night in A&E is not my preference but he definitely made it easier. Thankyou

Review titled Spot on service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Julie Piggott - Posted on 22 February 2025
My sister and I had to take our elderly mother to A&E as requested by a GP. Paperwork had been sent through so probably quickened process. Seen then seen by triage nurse. Steps were then followed through. Always treated with dignity and respect. After receiving drip and medication was lucky to be sent home.

Having recently received treatment in both Accident & Emergency, followed by surgery and nursing on Geddington ward, I have nothing but positive comments. All staff I encountered in whatever area of work were unfailingly caring, helpful, cheerful and generally brilliant.

Review titled Steriplas Treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Stephen Aitken - Posted on 04 February 2025
Hi i have been having Steriplas treatment since April 2024 for a wound after having my big toe amputated. I am sure without this treatment i would not be where i am today and that is the wound fully healed and just about to get fitted for my new shoes. The Steriplas team G and K are a credit to KGH they are so hard working and dedicated to their profession it was a real privalege to have met them and known them for the past 9 months. It would be a real shame to not open up the Steriplas treatment to more patients as just having the facility on a Monday for 5-6 hours with 10 patients at a time is not long enough and i am sure there are a lot of people like myself waiting desperately for this treatment. Please find a way to open this door to more people just think of all the changes of bandages and visits to podiatry you would save by doing this? And to finish off can i put a big mention to Dr. without his care and support i also would not be where i am today cant thank these people enough they are all a god send. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. xx

Review titled wonderful, caring, understanding, considerate and gentle staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mrs M D Martin - Posted on 09 February 2025
I had to have a CT scan appointment for a CT colonoscopy procedure. I suffer with agoraphobia panic attacks and severe anxiety. The staff were so understanding and considerate , when i started to have a "wobble" and panic. I had wound myself up about coming for the procedure, with the anxiety getting the better of me the few days before i was due to have the procedure and about the preparation for the procedure. My anxiety had blown the whole procedure out of proportion in my mind. I had also had a bad experience in another department with my care, which was also not helping!..Once the staff realised that i was starting to panic and i explained about my panic attacks and how hard the agoraphobia had made my visit to the department and the hospital in general, They worked with and around me to ensure that things were fully explained and i was reassured the whole time. I also understood that there were only male staff on duty on the department that day, but they "borrowed a lovely female nurse from a department close by to be with me and to talk to me the whole way through the procedure (apart from when the scanner was in use. I was reassured that it was ok to stop if i needed to at any point. While waiting between changing into a gown and having my scan, i was able to stay in the small changing room where i felt safer and more able to get my panic attack back under control with coping strategies, which i would not have been able to do in a public waiting area because of being extremely self conscious, embarrassed observed by other patients. I would just like to express my gratitude to the lovely staff working on the day. It was the morning of Saturday the 25th of January in the CT department. The staff were excellent and deserved to be recognised for their care, compassion and empathy, as well as their efficient professionalism on the day. Could you please ensure that they see this review as they deserve to know how grateful i am. They made the whole situation so much easier for me, than it would have been without their kindness and understanding. They are a credit to their profession

Review titled Great children’s A&E
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 January 2025
We took my daughter into A&E on her first birthday which obviously wasn’t the day we had planned. The speed at which she was triaged was excellent and from then on, although there were gaps while we waited, we felt really looked after and we were moved into the paediatric assessment unit while we waited for some other test results but the support continued and the test results were as quick as we could have hoped for. The staff were really kind to her and even gave her some presents for her birthday. We’re really grateful for the care and support we received.
