  1. Review titled Huge thanks to our fantastic NHS A&E team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Janette Wolf - Posted on 13 August 2023

Dealt with in super quick time for a sprained/ possibly broken ankle. Staff couldn't have been kinder or more considerate. My nurse has been doing this job for 34 years and despite everything that's been going on in the wider world, had lost none of her compassion or humour. We are so very lucky to have people with this kind of vocation. Thank you wonderful Horton Hospital.

  2. Review titled Reassuring and professional

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I received a phone call from bowel screening asking me to go for a colonoscopy after some blood was found in stool sample. I had to ask for the appointment to be at a nearer hospital due to my caring responsibilities. I was not looking forward to the procedure having recently lost a parent so feeling quite low. But from the moment I walked into the department I felt supported and that any concerns would be listened to. The staff very quietly calm and explained to me the process. Having worked as a health professional for many years I can honestly say I am so proud of the staff who looked after me and their professionalism, kindness and understanding are of the highest standard. Thank you all

  3. Review titled Fabulous service.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The hospital called me in the morning to ask me to come in earlier which I did. I was seen by the consultant even before I had completed the admission forms. The consultant explained everything. Offered to fit an IUD because it would lessen my symptoms and the procedure was carried out quickly, effectively, efficiently and with dignity and respect. I was kept in the know at all points of the procedure. Afterwards I was offered a cup of tea. Stayed there for 20 minutes as I was unaccompanied and able to drive myself home afterwards. I have never been in a hospital, had treatment and out within 90 minutes. Superb staff who were friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Thank you all.

  4. Review titled Amazing

Rated 5 stars out of 5

We recently had a day visit to the childrens ward at the Horton Hospital, where my son had some dental surgery. From start to finish the staff were welcoming, attentive, friendly, caring, kind. They could not have done anymore for us, the care provided by all was amazing. What could have been A stressful visit, was indeed quite the opposite and as a parent i couldnt thank them enough.

  5. Review titled Endoscopy fabulous department

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Thomas Meechan - Posted on 17 July 2023

I attended this department just as frightened as anyone would but I need not have been worried, from reception to recovery they are such a dedicated team and put everyone at ease. I know they work in tandem with the JR an equally excellent department so my heartfelt thanks to all of you no exceptions. I'm acutely aware this won't pay the bills as indeed neither did clapping but as a patient with a degenerative condition I stand shoulder to shoulder until you receive proper renumeration no matter how many appointment I miss or indeed surgery. A little odd one now, to the person responsible for the aquisition of the dignity shorts you have made so many patients feel just that, dignified and you deserve the plaudits for carrying out your tasks so efficiently Thank you Tommy Tremor

  6. Review titled Exceeded expectations

Rated 4 stars out of 5

When I had to take my son to A&E I felt a sense of dread, based on media coverage. We were quickly triaged, there was an screen indicating approx waiting time, which managed expectations. We were seen within the time by a lovely doctor (the triage nurses were great too). After x-ray and review we were out in about 2 and a quarter hours. Thank you.

  7. Review titled Superb staff, sparkling facilities

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Naomi H - Posted on 28 February 2023

Thank you everyone, for first class care when my partner collapsed 2 days ago and came to you by ambulance. We were welcomed and reassured from the first moment, by excellent reception, triage and nursing colleagues. Overnight, an amazingly comprehensive range of tests and scans was carried out. Again, more admiration for brilliant porters, doctors and technical colleagues. The facilities were sparkling clean (thanks, cleaners!), tidy and tranquil. Good to see staff working together with efficiency and affection, bless them.

  8. Review titled Humiliating

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 January 2023

The nurse doing my first scan was unsympathetic towards a miscarriage and so cold, when I couldn’t pass urine I was told “well she has to wee or she won’t be scanned”, I was also embarrassed by this person by them shouting through the bathroom door (leaving it open whilst shouting) “have you wee’d yet?” And “well we won’t be scanning you until you do” from the waiting room so everyone could hear I couldn’t pass urine. I then had to walk out in front of everyone sat there staring at me. This nurse was just awful, and made my whole scan experience a really terrible one. I can however say, the second nurse to scan me was absolutely lovely and so genuine, and the ladies in the woman’s health centre were fantastic, kind, and overall lovely.

  9. Review titled Professional yet caring

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by George Thompson - Posted on 11 January 2023

My wife was seen by two young ladies, who were incredible, from South central Ambulance and taken to A&E resus unit. She was there for nearly 8 hours and received great attention from all concerned. She was then moved to CC Unit where she was cared for even better with professional yet caring nursing and medical staff. Nothing was too much trouble and she and I would like to say thank you to everyone, right through her journey, who has and is looking after her. You are all wonderful.

  10. Review titled Amazing - Thank you so much

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by David Lucas - Posted on 09 January 2023

This is a review for the Horton General and the 111 service. We phoned the 111 service @ 6pm on a Sunday . We were called back promptly by a lovely nurse who was very clear and sympathetic to my sons needs as he had an issue with a sensitive area. After a number of questions we were then put through to a video call so the nurse could ascertain the issue. After this, we were told to head to the hospital. When arriving @ the hospital and polite curteous receptionist asked the issue and we were booked in. We sat down and after only 15 mins we were called in to see an awesome doctor. Again due to the nature of the issue he was very sensitive and thoughtful to my sons needs. He addressed the issue quickly and very proffessionally with help and advice before we headed off. Amazing - everyone was great and my son and i cant thank the NHS enough . Thank you ...
