Review titled Amazing practise
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Thea Williamson - Posted on 20 May 2025
I can't thank the team enough on the children's accident and emergency department. The whole team , the lovely kind team member who let my child chose what film.to watch, and brought her an iPad to help her relax and rest. The nurse that helped when my daughter quickly deteriorated and I was really scared. Another team member came to support and reassure me whilst the nurse did the medical observations. The doctor was thorough and both him and the nurse checked and checked again to ensure they had done everything they could. My daughter even commented how lovely the nurses were she'd never been to hospital before and she was really scared so thank you for reassuring her. Thank you so much , she is home and on the mend thanks to all the support of the children's A n E department .

Review titled Excellent care
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was directed by NHS 111 to A&E Good Hope due to possible Heart Problem in May 2025. From the start I was treated with respect and kindness. The triage system worked very efficiently and from the long day I spent in the unit, the care and attention I received was second to none - Xray, blood tests and monitoring of my blood pressure, heart rate and temperature were taken throughout the day. The unit was very busy and staff were, at times under great pressure but I witnessed at close quarters, everyone working together professionally and respectfully with each other and with every patient. The Cardiology team couldn't have done more for my wellbeing. A huge thank you to them and the very busy, warm hearted A&E staff, you made a stressful situation almost a pleasure.

Review titled Phlebotomy at good hope

Phlebotomy is not listed on your drop down. I am writing the review because I feel so sorry for you phlebotomy team. At 09.00 on Tuesday after the Bh I was 76 in the line. It is a long wait for me (with parking charges) but also must be really stressful and unsafe for your staff.

Review titled Dreadful contact experience
Rated 1 star out of 5

Although I fully appreciate how busy you all are, I have been trying to contact the nurse responsible for looking after my relative for 3 days, without success. It was impossible to get anyone to answer the first telephone number I was given (31 redials with ringing then cut-off without answer). Eventually given another number for AMU - where the Ward Clerks would answer, only to be transferred to the nurses station, where the phone would ring out without answer (apart from one occasion when I was told the nurse was too busy to talk to me!!!!). How on earth am I supposed to find out how my relative is, and whether they are likely to survive or not. It is so very frustrating and worrying to be a relative in this position.

Review titled Excellent care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Kathryn Silk - Posted on 20 April 2025
From start, 111, to finish I felt really cared for and respected by all staff who treated me with respect and kept well informed. I had two CT scans and an x-ray and knew what was happening throughout the seven hours at A&E. I cannot fault anyone.

Review titled Fantastic care fabulous staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Rebecca Cox - Posted on 01 May 2025
I recently got admitted to MAU (Ward 21) via 111 (Easter Sunday) I was required to stay in for a few days each and every staff member I came across nurses, staff who served food & drinks, cleaners, University students, consultants were absolutely fantastic, I received fantastic care from the nurses and the consultants, all the staff were super friendly and so polite, nothing was too much trouble, the staff nurse in charge that day delivered the highest standard of care I can’t thank her enough she made me feel so at ease (I’m not the best with hospitals) this is a wonderful ward and i feel blessed I was looked after by staff that genuinely care thank you from the bottom of my heart you made a very nervous patient calm and I had a very pleasant stay, I had my follow up appointment on Wednesday (30th April) again I cannot fault the service the Consultant was very thorough and discussed everything in great detail and referred me to a specialist group thank you to all involved in my care I truly appreciate you all

Review titled Brilliant Bsge Centre for Endometriosis
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 30 May 2025
I had surgery in March 2025 for complex stage 4 endometriosis. My consultant was exceptional. Fantastic care and knowledge. This went through to the wonderful, caring and unbelievably hard working nurses on the ward who took brilliant care of me under hard circumstances as it's obvious they are stretched. This went through to the physios and cleaning staff. I didn't meet anyone there who wasn't 100% focused on their patients and truly cared. It was also kept very clean. My follow up with the endometriosis nurse was also excellent. I had been completely terrified before surgery and I was so reassured and kept calm. It's not faultless as a service but this is mainly due to the challenges all hospitals are having. The waitlist was exceptionally long and pre-op care could have been better (this wasn't Good Hope) but the surgery itself, my few days on the ward and after care was fantastic and credit where it's due. I had some issues post op (mainly from very low blood pressure) and was quite poorly for a few days. The nurses were so brilliant at using all of their instincts as well as the facts to understand I needed more help and that it wasn't right and pushed for additional care. They had eyes like a hawk and I can't thank them enough.

on 03 /25 at 12.30 pm at a & e all staff performed blood pressure / cardiac test / x ray & 3 blood tests in which resulted in suspected "angina" considering the vast amount of patients in a & e the time I waited for these procedures I feel was" extreme;y good value for money" one clinician even tried to fast track me to a doctor! many thanks a & e Admitted to mau zone 2 approx 9.30 10.00 pm welcomed with a cup of tea / sandwich and a pair of safety socks, to prevent slippage in the night & shown to room 28. blood pressure was taken through the night by anounced staff names. i was introduced, next day to a nurse who was responsible for my care and i was impressed by the moving trollies, with b p equipment and a large screen with all my details on and progress so far. i could ask them anything. the quality of the food was good, menu explained and there it was excellent also the hot drinks were regular. also constant thorough cleaning took place through out the day. a great big thank you to night / daytime staff at mau zone 2 if only a few more of us public could say "thank you" for the hard work you all do. finally i met a member of staff from cardiology, who reviewed my health explained follow up attendance care as an outpatient in the clinic and then quickly completed my discharge letter and i just waited for my medication explained fully by my nurse, again many many thanks mau zone 2 from patient nhs no 4560109877 duration of stay 3rd april- 5th april 2025.
