    Had to call 999 due to heart problems. The three ambulance crew were really good. Friendly and professional and looked after me with real compassion. Admitted straight to Emergency department, staff there were very efficient and very friendly. Caring and supportive during this time when I felt unwell. All introduced themselves and nothing was too much trouble. Was always treated with respect and dignity and explanation was given about everything they were doing. I was then transferred to EAU and the staff were amazing. Care i was given was excellent, they were kind and helpful and very understanding when I needed support. Cannot fault anyone I came into contact with and the care I received was excellent.

    In the early hours of Thursday morning a Paramedic and Ambulance crew came to a very remote cottage with no proper access to help me. They showed great professionalism and ingenuity in not only finding me, an 88 year old man in great distress but then treating me and getting me to the Ambulance and then to Hospital. I owe them a lot.

    Ambulance came out to my husband who has Alzheimer’s and had a fall.The staff were amazing treated him with respect and spoke to him in a manner he could understand. They were so kind and professional, a big thank you to them

    The paramedic who attended my situation literally changed my life. He was so kind and caring and shared his own experience and it made me stop and think and helped me to get out of an abusive situation. He really did make a `difference. I never have had the chance to thank him but I want to say a huge thank you to him and his colleagues. You took the time to care that night and it really changed my life.

    Fantastic service from the moment we made the 999 call after a family member had a stroke, to the amazing paramedics arriving and beyond… The outstanding professional attention received, even the speed of the ambulance, the nurses, the consultants, to our Mum fully recovering and returning home safely after a long time in hospital. The continued care from carers and physiotherapists from the NHS has been fantastic and we are all extremely grateful for the expertise of every single person involved in the NHS. You looked after her as though she was part of your own family. You are all magical jigsaw pieces that create miracles. We will always be grateful forever… Thank you

    When my 85 year old husband had a Transient Ischaemic Attack, the Yorkshire Ambulance Service was outstanding. Service was speedy, both from the Ambulance Responder and the ambulance; great kindness, empathy, skill and the highest standards of professionalism, patience and thoroughness in undertaking checks were shown throughout; they ensured he received all possible care. We are very grateful because all this has led to a happy conclusion. Such staff and such service deserve nothing but praise.

    Wonderful, compassionate care shown to my 88 year old husband having had a severe allergic reaction. Treated with dignity. Even going to the trouble on the early hours of the morning to get antihistamines from All night supermarket. Wonderful continued help the next day by Acct Team arranged as well. These guys should be paid a proper decent wage. I have never come across an unhelpful paramedic.

  9. Review titled Falling off my bicycle

    I was coming back from the Tigger Tor fell race and as I approached a right hand turn I assume my bicycle slipped and I came off. The next thing I knew I was sitting on the ground with about 4 people round me - an ambulance was called and came quite soon - taking me to Accident and Emergency at the Norther General. The ambulance crew were great - very professional - getting my details, checking my heart etc and giving me some painkillers - they also kept me talking ... which was friendly but also I suspect a good thing to do with someone who has had concussion. At the hospital I was taken through quickly for an initial assessment and X Rays - followed by a scan of my head. I was there for quite a long time (about 5 or 6 hours) frankly, I didn't mind - staff the nurse and the doctor assigned to me were attentive and helpful - clearly carrying multiple case loads. I am now waiting for the results of an assessment of my case from the Fracture Clinic which I have been told I will get tomorrow. My one criticism of A and E that I would like noting is that they handed the job of fitting me with a sling to a junior member of staff - the correct fitting and explaining why it was important did not happen. In retrospect with a collar bone that is snapped and digging into my skin I think this is important and could have been done better - my only criticism.

    We called out the ambulance for a neighbour to be checked after a fall. The Fire Brigade had lifted him from the floor and said that he must be medically checked so wasn't urgent. After two hours a phone call took place and I was told that hopefully a Specialist Paramedic would attend. Nothing that needed hospital treatment was found and my neighbour explained that her husband was booked into a Nursing Home and waiting for a date of acceptance. The Paramedic phoned the Nursing Home, got acceptance cleared immediately and then proceeded to book an ambulance to transport our neighbour to his Care Home. All took place within two and a half hours of my talking to someone in the Ambulance Depot. It is quite refreshing to meet people who work so sensibly - well done and thank you Yorkshire Ambulance.
