  1. Review titled A speedy response to my emergency call - amazing team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by V Jackson - Posted on 08 April 2024

Firstly I would like to say a huge thank you to the amazing crew who looked after me when I injured my back at Easter. The ambulance crew provided the most amazing care, diligence and kindness. They clearly explained everything thoroughly about my treatment to both me and my family. I thanked them personally and I’d love the positive feedback and thanks to be passed on to the team personally. This team are an absolute credit to your station and an asset to the nhs. The crew number is na203 and the job number is 0606. I’d love to thank them here personally but I’m not able to name them so I hope this review reaches them.

  2. Review titled Great response by an ambulance crew

Rated 4 stars out of 5

On Friday morning, 2nd Feb, my very elderly husband had a fall at home. We want to commend the South Central Ambulance Service crew who attended. Their arrival was timely and the crew demonstrated real skill and competence. They were kind and caring, and they gave very helpful advice on the next steps that we needed to take. We were impressed by and most grateful for this service.

  3. Review titled Amazing Ambulance Crew

Rated 5 stars out of 5

We had to call an ambulance crew out for my grandad’s wife, and they were absolutely fantastic - they did the medical part their job perfectly, but more than that they were friendly and funny, chatted with my grandad about music and were just so kind and care that they made a challenging and emotional event so much easier to bear.

  4. Review titled My care package

    by defenderdw69 - Posted on 02 December 2023

I am posting this on behalf of my wife. Since breaking my hip and two ribs in mid October this year I have been receiving ongoing treatment from the New Milton Community Nursing Team, each member of the team has been very supportive taking the time to explain details of all the care they were dispensing. This left me feeling more assured with any progress. Keep up the good work and thank God for the NHS. Being a joint effort I would also like to thank the following; 911 Ambulance team, admittance to the Southampton hospital, surgery dept, aftercare, discharge, care in the Community Team, Arnwood GP Practice New Milton, Kamsons Pharmacy New Milton. All contributed to my excellent treatment and I am now well on my way to a recovery.

  5. Review titled Busy But Incredible

Rated 5 stars out of 5

With an extremely high number of life threatening cases in one night, I had originally been given an almost 15 hour wait time as my condition was more stable. They instead managed to get a crew in from a neighbouring town and cut the wait time in half. They were two lovely people who helped me feel a lot more relaxed and took me to A&e themselves as I can't drive. They were professional but friendly, made me feel at ease, and reassured me that I was right to call and wasn't wasting anyone's time.

  6. Review titled felt safe with ambulance staff for 12hrs in corridor

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mrs Elizabeth Schwarz - Posted on 28 December 2023

Due to Stoke Mandeville A and E being full, South Central Ambulance Service staff were looking after us (elderly relative requiring care) brilliantly in a corridor for over 12 hours. They kept us informed, they checked and did obs with my relative regularly. We felt safe within their care. Other patients were given hygiene care behind screens with dignity. They clearly would have liked to hand us over to hospital staff but had a queue of 18. they managed to transfer my relative to a more comfortable A&E trolley very quickly. Ambulance staff managed this with 2 double teams (1 person supervising 6 patients) releasing the other teams back onto their vans. I was impressed at their impromptu organisation and calm handling of a difficult situation, puting patient care top and central. Absolutely brilliant. Blood tests and chest x-rays were organised during our wait so that a doctor was able to initiate treatment much faster than I expected. (I heard her say she had 50 patients still to see. it was so full that day and night) I feel media could have reported the situation really negatively - but our experience was positive and safe, and we were kept informed. I could not fault the care we had from South central ambulance service in difficult circumstances

  7. Review titled Bad pracice

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by Rona Stephens-Hill - Posted on 06 July 2023

I recently had a negative experience while booking a patient transfer for my husband with one of your representatives, who is responsible for NHS care. The representative's conduct was unprofessional and passive-aggressive, as they interrupted me and asked for irrelevant information repeatedly. Furthermore, they showed a lack of understanding of relevant assistance programs. It is essential for service providers contracted by the NHS to display professionalism, empathy, and a sincere desire to assist patients and their families. I request that you investigate and address my concerns and provide additional training for your staff to enhance service delivery.

  8. Review titled Amazing kindness and care.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The ambulance team called after my wife rang, as I had a fall in the garden. They were all so kind, knowledgeable, efficient, chatty and gave useful information as they left. These people deserve praise and recognition for the service they give the community.

  9. Review titled Great care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jennie Curtis - Posted on 31 May 2023

My daughter called an ambulance for me on Saturday after I suffered a seizure. The crew that attended were great. When I came round my daughters were calm due to the support received from the crew. Both were kind even in spite of my untidy house and unkempt appearance. (Last time I have a lazy day after a busy week! Lol). I was quite disorientated when I came round but they were very calm and professional so I didn’t panic. Please say thank you to them for me.

  10. Review titled Calling 111

by camyccc - Posted on 04 April 2023

I called 111, because I was tested positive for covid 19, and I had very bad symptoms. The nurse who answered was very polite and professional, she took some details and told me that a doctor would call me. In fact, doctor called me after 10 hours. They spoke to me very hatefully, effectively dismissing me, they told me that they knows better, considering that they told me to take ibuprofen when I told them that I have asthma and I can't take it. They asked me if I am a doctor and if I work in the NHS, I told them that I am not a doctor but yes I work in the NHS. They didn't let me speak at all, and when I told them to give me something for ear pain, they rushed me and said that had already sent the prescription to the pharmacy and that they couldn't do anything. When you are sick, you expect a doctor to ease your fears and make you feel better, but what happened to me last night left me with a bitter taste.
