  1. Review titled Don’t Expect Help - Updated Review

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Kelly Campbell-Staines - Posted on 02 May 2025

I called the surgery again a week later and spoke to a lovely helpful GP who kindly listened and I have now had an X Ray. She is waiting for the results and will go from there. She has also updated my meds and I am pain free for the time being. I feel bad for leaving the previous review. Sadly I think I that the GPs are too busy to fully read your E consult and to understand that you need to see someone or at least that you are expecting an appointment. Sadly I can’t delete me previous review so the least I can do is update and say that they have now been great in getting me the help I need.

  2. Review titled Outstanding practice

Recently had major revision shoulder surgery. The nurses/drs have been so prompt in post-op care. A consult in morning and I’m seen by a nurse for a dressing change within 2 hrs. Unfortunately I now have an infected wound, given penicillin but had a severe reaction to that, but by sending a further consult request this morning by 8.30 I had a dr call and prescribe new Antibotics. He was polite, warm, friendly and very reassuring. I’d been up all night worried sick about this infection. The pharmacy is always busy but a 15/20 min wait is fine compared to some of my friends experiences at their surgeries. Instead of a small percentage of patients complaining all the time remember it’s one of the busiest if not busiest surgery in Suffolk. 10/10 to all the staff

  3. Review titled Don’t Expect Help

    by Kelly Campbell-Staines - Posted on 28 April 2025

I have been suffering with pain in my left leg for a year. I have been pushed pillar to post and still am undiagnosed. I am now unable to dress myself and some days can barely walk. I have to work. I have asked for help and have been referred to physio, I then was referred to the Spine clinic who arranged an MRI of my spine and lower back. This came back clear. Yet I am still in increasing pain. I am on painkillers constantly which are making me depressed. I have increased my dose of antidepressants to try and counteract this, I’ve done this with no advice from the doctor. Nothing is helping. I have numbness and pain down my left leg and it is now painful to sit down. I contacted the surgery again by econsult asking for different pain relief and that I am very depressed. I can’t function properly anymore. I have asked for a copy of my MRI results letter. To be told I have to contact the hospital for this. I have contacted the hospital previously and asked for the scan and report, so I can take it elsewhere to be reviewed. I have been told it could take 6 months. I’ve just had a note on the NHS app from Woolpit just saying to get my results from the hospital. They haven’t reviewed my pain relief or my antidepressants, they haven’t spoken to me on the phone. I’ve asked before for some constipation relief due to the painkillers, that also has been ignored. I’m literally being left to deal with this. I can’t take this anymore and now I’m left to try and find another doctor to transfer to. If you are looking for a helpful doctor then go elsewhere these guys haven’t got time for you.

  4. Review titled Amazing service

I filled out the online consult and uploaded a picture of a boil on my collarbone . I was contacted within an hour and within 3 hours i had been seen by the team and the infected follicle removed, wound dressed , antibiotics issued and follow up appointment booked . I was absolutely blown away by the speed and quality of service received . The new consult system is fab , allowing you to upload a photo of the problem without taking up a doctors time .

  5. Review titled Anima availability is poor and unsupportive

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Mr Steven Howe-Bull - Posted on 12 March 2025

It's taken my the best part of 6 months to pluck up the courage and talk about a condition only for my request to fail its screening through Anima because you're busy at 11.30 on March 12/2025. This is really disappointing.

  6. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have been a patient at the practice for a number of years and have always found the care fantastic, particularly with my children, and have never struggled to get an appointment. I attended the surgery today with my 6 month old for a pre arranged appointment to see the Health Visitor. During my appointment I raised some concern medically about my daughter. The receptionist arranged for me to see the next available GP without having to leave and come back. Between appointments I had to breastfeed in the waiting area, despite being busy the reception staff came over to offer me a glass of water and to check I was comfortable. I was seen by the GP before my allocated appointment time and was pleased with the medical advice given. Fantastic service, thank you all.

  7. Review titled Not sure what's happened to this surgery

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 November 2024

The staff are great but the service has gone downhill since covid and never recovered. 4 times I have had to go private because I actually had 3 slipped discs but no attempt to have an MRI was given just more pain killers Physio is also given but try getting an appointment for that. 18 months I waited for an NHS appointment for back trouble before I had to go private to save my sanity job and to restore my health. Never see the same doctor twice and as for econsult lets not go there its horrible & pointless in some cases.

Have elderly parents with complex medical issues. An Econsult sent is always responded too within 1-2 hours - a Dr has come out to visit on several occasions during the last year or a photo(s) sent through with e-consult resulting in medication being prescribed and collected the same day. As I collect a lot of prescriptions on behalf of family I haven’t had to wait more than 15 mins each time this year. Yes queues were bad in past but management appear to have sorted the back room out. I’ve heard from colleagues of people calling their drs or sending an econsult for a sore throat. Honestly, the NHS is under severe pressure, go to the pharmacy firstly and ask for a pharmacist opinion. If they can’t assist they will send you either to A&E if they think it’s serious or back to drs. The drs triage patients through econsult like A&E so if they think it’s urgent you get responded too quicker I imagine than those with a runny nose. It’s not a perfect system but until a government has the back bone to charge (a deposit) for an appointment either at drs or hospital (if you turn up you get your deposit back. If you fail to attend you loose the deposit - then we just have to make the most of the system we have Eat healthily, don’t drink too much and stop smoking. That would free up thousands of appointments!

  9. Review titled Terrible service

Rated 1 star out of 5

You cannot talk to anyone any more its all econsult which is left for days without any answer or reply then you email to remind them and get put in another list for days. Terrible! Service, we are human and would be nice to talk to humans that can help. Things that should take a few days end up being weeks. Help us all when there new estate if full of new patience we wont stand a chance.

  10. Review titled No help offered

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Have tried repeatedly to get the NHS app but because I cannot remember my old mobile number, it won't recognise me. I changed the mobile number at the reception last year, but there is nothing on there to let you put in a new number! This is supposed to be simpler but so far it is a nightmare! It is all very well saying this will be easier to use, but if no-one will help, how can it be? Plus because my husband does not have a mobile there is no way he could get through and as he is a diabetic ,this is worrying. This has not been very well thought out, I am disabled, so rely on my husband to get my prescriptions and take me to the surgery. Has any research been done on this,as to how it impacts people like me ! It certainly doesn't seem like it!
