Review titled Terrible can’t get through then appalling advice

You call the practice it tells you they are busy and disconnects the call. I am trying to get my prescription it hasn’t arrived at the pharmacy and I have no way of getting through. The same happened when I had an emergency after a car accident they wouldn’t answer tried for days then got told I would have to wait 6 weeks to see a GP. When I was finally seen they told me to self refer to a physio!!! Absolutely appalling no wonder a & e are chocca- they didn’t tell me about 111 or other out of hours options they just left me. I even complained to the practice manager who was too busy telling me I was wrong to actually give me the advice I needed (which was I could go to a walk in centre or self refer to the physio). Left in pain for weeks and weeks now can’t get a basic prescription. I will have to take time away from work and turn up at the surgery as this is the only way to speak to someone.

I was initially in a queue of 7 and had a little wait bit once I got through to the practice they were very helpful. I had an issue with my medication, the receptionist was friendly, helpful and dealt with my problem efficiently. She called back when she said she would and sorted my problem out in the one day. Excellent service, thank you.

In my 60+ years of being a patient at Woodville surgery I have always experienced a positive patient experience. During the pandemic up to present day I have on all but one occasion managed to see a nurse, doctor or speak to the pharmacist regarding my health. I also find the administration team extremely helpful, polite and efficient when dealing with my enquiries, wether talking to them on the telephone or communicating with them by email. Please keep up the good standards and thank you for your had work.

Trying to book a ring back from a Doctor is ridiculous. Told to ring about medication review, next available slot is 3 weeks away. I only have 1 weeks supply left. Try ringing 1st thing in the morning, on hold for 30 minutes only to be told no more slots available, try again tomorrow.

They were the only ones open a while back, every other surgery was shut due to staff shortages. They've got their issues, as has the whole of the NHS. I think they do fantastically well to keep patient and they always apologise to patients for the things that quite frankly aren't in their control!. I've had several GP surgeries, Newhall, Gresleydale, Osmaston. I've also dealt with many Burton surgeries on behalf of other patients and this is by far the best surgery I've ever dealt with. The receptionists are kind and helpful, even if they can't help they tell you that and listen to you without prejudice. The Dr's are all great and the nurse practitioners are especially fab as are the hcas. One nurse does let the team down, I have complained in the past about an incident involving not maintaining my dignity during a particular women's screening procedure, that was promptly dealt with by the Practice manager when I complained. Other than that they are a fantastic team and it's unfair to Blame them for central government cockups, nationwide underfunding and understaffing issues.
