  1. Review titled Test results

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Gary - Posted on 04 January 2024

Spent a good 3 hours ringing around trying to get test results from Nov 30th.I am told I need a doctors appointment, yet you can never get one.Now I have a few things wrong and if they check my records I am not one who ever visited the doctor regularly.I see in reviews someone has had a similar experience to myself. All I want is feedback to see if I have regressed or not.Stop taking more patients on,and make people accountable!

  2. Review titled Some staff becoming desensitised

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Philip Tew - Posted on 16 December 2023

Appaling attitude from some staff members when trying to access information after a recent KGH examination. Promises to return call same day with information renaged on. No access given to referal team to discuss and progress examination findings received and told I must make a GP appointment but not offered one and told to take my chances with the masses via an 8 a.m. call. In the end I had to get KGH to contact the surgery only for them to be treated very rudely by Woodsend staff who immediatley pushed back when contacted. Some staff have become desensitised. The worst of it all, in my opinion, is they have no idea what-so-ever how many people are unable to make a GP appointment when calling in at 08.00 each morning as only the first 50 callers are qued and the rest blocked with no other option to get an appointment.

  4. Review titled Poor experience

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Jillian - Posted on 27 September 2023

Having had some fantastic care from the doctors at this practice over the past months I have had a very disappointing experience with reception today. My 1 yr old was prescribed antibiotics. They are on a “short supply protocol” and every chemist in Corby does not have them available. Called the doctors back to have the prescription amended. Told it will be a task for tomorrow. Questioned why when it’s for a 1 yr old and is antibiotics which were prescribed today. Put on hold and told the team leader said it’s a task for tomorrow as no slots available. If I’m concerned and want it sooner to go to Accident and Emergency. I am disgusted. As someone who works in the healthcare service this would be an unacceptable response for my team members to give. The doctor is not aware of this situation. All that has happened is another emergency service has been given the pressure when they are already bursting at the seams and a job that was todays work has been pushed to tomorrow instead. I am sure had the doctor been verbally informed they would have amended the script as they have been extremely helpful but the reception today have let the practice down. That’s not their judgement to make about a child’s prescription that was issued merely 2 hrs prior.

  5. Review titled Appalling service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Gareth Plowman - Posted on 08 August 2023

I have been trying to book a GP appointment everyday at 8am by phone for 6 weeks!! 9 times out of 10 unable to even get through, when you do all the appointments have been taken and to call tomorrow. I only require a referral to the NHS for carpel tunnel syndrome that requires treatment. I guess I will have to go waste the NHS time and money by visiting A&E to get a referral. I would not recommend this surgery as you cannot get any patient services or see a GP

  6. Review titled Refreshing

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by LaVern Brown - Posted on 05 July 2023

To be honest when I went to the surgery recently as a new patient for my annual review, I realised how lucky we are as patients to be able to come to a surgery to have care treatment. As a new patient I didn't know what to expect, on how I would be treated when I first went a few months ago now, and found that there was nothing to be worried about. I've attended the surgery a few times now, and on each occasion I have found the staff to be very welcoming and friendly. It's refreshing to know through these troubled times that help is there, and surgery members do care.

  7. Review titled Incompetence

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 July 2023

I am registered for repeat prescriptions. Last night I attempted to request ramipril and various diabetes related medication via repeat prescription. But alongside all of the items I wanted to request were the words "This item needs to be reviewed by the responsible clinician before it can be requested again. Please contact the Clinician to arrange this review. The responsible clinician may be your GP or in some cases your Nurse ' So I naively phoned the GP to be told by the receptionist 'you should have sent an email or registered online. We don't issue prescriptions.' I was merely following the stated instructions on my online Woodseats Medical Centre account. Nowhere, on my account page, does it say I shouldn't phone the GP. Furthermore, as I have diabetes 'forever' (unless there is a cure during my lifetime) why do I have to have insulin medication reviewed? It really should be safe to assume that if I have had diabetes (type 1) since 1984 I have still got it. And therefore reviewing my medication is an irrelevance? I resent being told by reception that I shouldn't have phoned you. I need Ramipril, I am registered with you for online repeat prescriptions, I have booked my annual review, and I have followed written instructions. I expect better and more respectful customer service than this. As the receptionist said...' well, we need to update our system.' It shouldn't be so difficult and stressful for someone with a clinical condition to get their medication. Thank you for reading this.

  8. Review titled Staff very helpful.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Alan Jones - Posted on 10 May 2023

Not had a consultation as yet, but very happy with the help we have received from the staff. Applied to the practice as new patients, and was told about a three week wait, but we have been accepted, and notified within two weeks. Very good. Very difficult to answer some of the following question as have not yet visited the surgery but so far all is good.

  9. Review titled Terrible decline

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 March 2023

4 times I have been cut off this morning despite ringing in the "sweet spot" of 8am exactly. I've literally had enough, I'm moving myself and my family from this surgery now - trying to get an appointment when you need one is such a stressful activity, that I won't even try for myself, and just hope I'll get better. I only bother for my children, but now that they don't even answer the phone, I can't even get them seen. This used to be an excellent surgery but since Aspiro took over, its absolutely shocking. Shame on you all

  10. Review titled Day 7 of spending over 30 mins trying to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 February 2023

I ended up routed to A&E after trying to get a gp appointment for over 2 weeks. This morning after constant calling from 8am, the message just said we are busy call back later, by8.16am I managed to achieve position 50 in the queue. I have had the same conversation with the poor receptionist every day for 2 weeks now, strikes me a triage nurse would be useful on the phones, especially for those who have chronic or multiple long term health conditions.
