impolite and Unfriendly receptionist. The way she speaks as if she owns the GP practice. No patience and the way she talk to me as if she is above me and boastful.

I don’t understand that you can’t get to see your regular GP who has known you for many years and understands more than a different GP each time. If i request a face to face appointment i feel fobbed off when I can only get a phone app. I’m not good at speaking on the phone so I get stuck with a take it of leave it feeling. It’s very sad when you feel you just go away and deal with pain the best way you can.

Review titled No customer service
Rated 1 star out of 5

This place has no customer service, the receptionists are a big put off in this place, telephone mannerisms are no good and it's clear they don't get trained enough for a job role that is customer facing. It also feels like they try to discourage you from coming in and everything is done virtually. Begs the question why this practice is even still open.

Review titled Receptionist
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Campbell Bruns - Posted on 05 July 2023
I have ran out of blood pressure tablets and on 2 occasions I have tried to get a repeat. Now long before I came to Woodgate valley I was prescribed 2 lisinapril daily due to very high bp. But I have now found out they have been reduced to 1 daily without anyone but the receptionist telling me this. She also said I now need to wait until the 25th of July before I can order more or and I quote as she sat back and looked at me said I suggest to look at home for the rest of your tablets. So I have now cancelled all medication from the pharmacy and will attend a&e as and when it’s needed I will not be spoken to as if I have stolen my tablets by anyone

This Health Centre requires training if staff there is no patient focus they consider text messaging to be the prominent way to communicate with their patients and the health centre manager not accessible or willing to manage complaints told ‘too busy’

Our apologies if you feel that we lack patient focus at the surgery, this is certainly not our intention. Text messaging to patients has proved to a very effective way of communicating information to our patients both during and post Covid. Our Practice Manager is accessible for dealing with complaints, as per our practice protocol. Once again sorry that you feel the care at the surgery has fell below standard and we are more than willing to discuss the matter further if you make yourself know to the practice. Thank you

Review titled What an amazing practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Kaushik - Posted on 01 June 2023
What an amazing service . Defies what people say about NHS GP services . Contacted the surgery around 3pm . Spoke to a lovely receptionist who arranged for a telephone conversation with the Gp . 4:30pm got a call from the GP . She was happy to see me in person or just suggest some treatment . We discussed my options and she suggest some meds and sent an online prescription to my neighbourhood chemist . Ans I can pick it up in an hours .. that’s amazing service .. the Nhs may be broken but the people working in it are not ans are amazing

Review titled Good practice

I recently moved practice to Woodgate valley, having not been able to get an appointment for me or my child at my previous practice. I have had a few health issues that I’ve been managing since the pandemic. Every experience I have had with a doctor or nurse has been exceptional the medical staff are kind, reassuring and incredibly professional, a real credit to the NHS. I do however have a serious concern with the system when booking an appointment. When you call to book you have to disclose your medical issue to the receptionist/admin who take the call. On every occasion when booking an appointment the reception staff who I assume have no medical training have dismissed my issue. On one occasion the woman who took the call scoffed and said ‘well I can’t give you an appointment today You’ll have to call back’ after I told her what my problem was - a very obvious change in tone from when she initially took the call. Everyone is very lovely when you visit the practice however I ’d really just like to send a polite reminder to the receptionists that kindness and compassion costs nothing no matter how minor an issue may seem. I understand that the volume of calls must be very high however every patient is an individual who is contacting because they are worried/scared about a health problem. Overall I’m just grateful to have been able to have an asthma review, book my smear and to have seen a doctor for my son when he was sick. All 3 of which I hadn’t been able to do for over 12 months at my last practice.

Dear Patient, thank you for your positive comments about our surgery and staff. If I could address the comments regarding staff asking the nature of the call, this is a signposting question, to ensure that you are directed to the correct clinician for your concerns. I am sorry that you felt that our staff were dismissive over your issue and you can be assured that I will address these concerns with out staff. Once again thank you for taking time to review the surgery, we appreciate positive feedback but also learn from any negative comments.
