  1. Review titled Pharmacy issue

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 March 2024

When trying to make an appointment at this surgery you are asked to speak to a pharmacist first. When attempting to do this I went to the medical centre pharmacy and asked for some advice on what I could buy for a persistent sore throat. The response from the pharmacist was that she didn’t want to see me as she didn’t want to do appointments that day. I am unsure how to get medical advice when the doctor requires you to speak to a pharmacist but the pharmacist refuses to speak to you as well. We are being encouraged to visit pharmacy’s more to ease pressure on GPs but they do need to be on board with this. The central NHS messaging has just not reached this surgery unfortunately.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I am sorry this was your experience, although we share a building, the pharmacy is a separate business. Please direct any complaint you have regarding the pharmacy to the management team at the pharmacy. If you wish to discuss this further please contact me via reception.witterings@nhs.net Best wishes Emma, Operations Manager.

  2. Review titled Just the worst

Rated 1 star out of 5

Entirely rude, chaotic and unprofessional. Made it impossible to get an appointment and now bombarding with nonsense spam. The worst of the worst. Avoid and go elsewhere. Completely regret registering here and now trying to deregister (no response so far)

  3. Review titled Unacceptable service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Feel that we all don’t fit in one box , very impersonal service , found very unhelpful with my area of concern , I don’t contact docters unless necessary , severe back pain , had left it until the pain was too intense to then do online consultation to have to chase for response to then get told a duty docter would call who then didn’t call and sent a text message with exercises and referral form .. how did the surgery know if the exercises they sent would work , they didn’t even know where the pain was .. very frustrating and second experience with them I’ve not found acceptable

  5. Review titled Given up!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 April 2023

I’ve now officially given up with this surgery. It’s been just over two weeks now with me trying to book an appointment to see a doctor. You can’t get through on the phone and the E-consult is always switched off. So I’m now going to see if I can register elsewhere.

  6. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Karen Tross Youle - Posted on 16 February 2023

As instructed I called the Practice at 8.30am, I was 19th in the queue but my call was answered in ten minutes. I explained my problem, they sent me a text for more information, I was called by a doctor half an hour later and seen by the same doctor within two hours. He was very helpful, kind and informative and I have been referred on to a specialist to be seen within two weeks. I have always had wonderful care at this surgery, it’s been exceptional every time!

  7. Review titled Frail elderly left in pain with no assessment or home visit

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 February 2023

After 3 phone calls for help, admin giving/relaying clinical information??? which is unacceptable as not qualified to do so, advising my relative is not priority as on antibiotic??. Patient frail and over 80 left in crying pain+++ as this GP practice just cannot be bothered, however still taking new patient's when they clearly cannot manage the patient's that they already have. Their processes are clearly not working and outdated, states surgery opens 8am try to get through and it informs you that they are closed?? that is if you are lucky enough not to be cut off. However this surgery need to understand that they have a duty of care to all their patient's registered and paid to look after their health and should stop taking the money if they cannot safely care for them. This surgery/staff and current processes need urgent review/inspection before somebody dies through their negligence.

  9. Review titled Process unfit for purpose

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by eanr - Posted on 29 December 2022

Most of the doctors are great, although I see them very rarely. Their operating process is a mess. my current issue has taken a total of five calls to get through the first triage due to their phone system. The Dr was excellent in his persistence however. An appointment 3 weeks ahead turned out to need a more urgent one so today I made four phone calls, listened to almost a one minute explanation, including an instruction to hang on for an appointment, at the end of each I was told my call couldn't be taken and try again later. After the fourth call I went to the surgery in person as I can drive there in a few minutes. Receptionist was not on the phone or otherwise busy, and when I explained I had called four times to try and get an appointment today, she just looked at me blankly as if to say "why should I care?". I explained my need, she said she'd arrange for the doctor to call me, so I repeated the fact I'd been triaged 2 weeks ago, and she said again she'd get the doctor to call. I confirmed I needed an appointment today and she kind of indicated yes. So I drove home again, angry at a process that clearly doesn't work and, in this case, a receptionist that was unhelpful and uncaring in her attitude - thankfully unlike others I have seen over the years who were lovely. I can only hope that I do get my appointment today...time will tell.
