Review titled Unacceptable waiting times
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 03 February 2025
I called this morning at 8:50am and waited well over an hour to get through to the reception and was offered an appointment in two weeks time. This is unacceptable. We are asked to avoid using A&E but when we have an appointment to see the GP a fortnight after we ask for one, our symptoms could have potentially gotten worse and will require hospital intervention. This is not a sustainable system. We cannot be asked to avoid A&E to avoid hospital pressures but then be denied a reasonable appointment. Something needs to be fixed because, at least at the GP, there is something fundamentally broken about the system.

Review titled Fantastic service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

In a time when there is so much negativity about the NHS and GP’s in general, I feel like I must say how valued I feel as a patient at Wideopen Medical Centre. Having called today the receptionist was incredibly helpful, listening to my issue and sorted me out in a few minutes with an appointment for a service I didn’t know existed. She even sent a text message with directions and explained over the phone how to get there as the appointment was offsite of the GP surgery. I feel lucky to be able to receive such good service and care.

Review titled Very friendly
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I spoke to the receptionist this morning and she was really friendly and helpful. I have never had problems at this surgery apart from it’s hard trying to get through the line to get an appointment, other than that I find the surgery really good and helpful

Review titled Very friendly and professional practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by B.Rutherford - Posted on 06 November 2024
Having recently moved into the area I have found this practice to be excellent. My recent requests for doctor and nurse appointments have been most helpful. The reception staff are friendly, helpful and professional and the medical team give considerate and practical advice. I've managed to get appointments within a reasonable time and tge follow up treatments have been swift and helpful.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Very patient and helpful organisation from the receptionist this morning 27th November, when sorting review visits out. Having recently moved to the area, I have found this practice to be organised and friendly, with all of the issues I have had being dealt with quickly and sympathetically.

Review titled New triage service is really useful
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 17 October 2024
The past couple of times I have called the practice with a query for an appointment they have used the new triage service. One time they didn’t see the need for an appointment and could resolve my problems via the phone call. The second they got me a phone call appointment within the hour of calling to be triaged. This service has seen to be very helpful in my case, I think this will take the pressure off the doctors, practice nurses and other member of staff at the practices. In the past it is impossible to get an appointment past 9 as they have all gone to people calling. Today I called at almost 10 and was given an appointment! This has just never been seen before during my time at the practices. I hope this service stays as it is very useful! Thank you!

Review titled Not the best
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Chris - Posted on 02 October 2024
Some of the doctors ie 2 of the female ones are out of this world can’t do enough for people and I personally can not thank them enough but there have been times I have gone in Dr asked what’s up and then told me I should have just googled it and then there is the Dr on the computer googling what he should have done and then ask me what they wanted then to do and then I have had my children there Dr checks their throat and says yeah you have tonsils like everyone else told me to get some strepsils for my child and next thing I know having to rush my child to A&E as their airways have closed up like I say there are two female doctors one in maternity leave at the moment who always go above and beyond either on the phone or face to face not that you can get a face to face these days but telephone calls seem to be the main way of dealing with things

Review titled Great practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lyn Howey - Posted on 23 August 2024
It was first class from the lovely and helpful receptionist booking me in and seeing the doctor who was amazing she was so caring and actually knew what she was talking about. It was her first week at the practice. She us one of the best doctors I have seen and in my opinion an absolute asset to the practice.
