I often have problems with the front of office staff and pharmacist. They seem to think that they are all powerful, never give a straight answer and seem to be quite happy to demeen and insult patients intelligence. I was told after not recieving a repeat prescriptiom to call the pharmacy who told me to call the gp who then told me its the pharmacy who has to call them and the pharmacy say they do not call GP's the GP must call them.

I have been registered with this practice for just over 2 years after I moved into the area. In all that time I can honestly say that I have never had an issue with any member of staff, with appointments or prescriptions. Yes, sometimes I don’t relish the idea of ringing the practice at 8am but I accept that unfortunately it is a sign of the times - In my opinion the Reception Staff do their very best under really challenging circumstances as they try to meet everyone’s needs . I certainly do not envy them ! . I have found them to be polite , efficient and professional. I also think that the Drs whom I have seen at the practice provide excellent care. I have a complex chronic pain issue and I can honestly say that they have been friendly, professional and thorough at all times - discussing treatment options with me where appropriate. The practice nursing staff are also a credit to the practice. All in all I am extremely satisfied with the care which I have received to date from Westway Medical Practice

My mum and dad have been under the care of Westway and their amazing team for the last 65 years. We have always had the best care and service but today I compared it to my doctors in Billinge and realised if Carlsberg made doctors it would be West Way and the reason being. My call was answered in seconds by a lovely receptionist who was happy and laughing, as is alway the case with all the staff, she’s took my call seriously and professionally and I was shocked when the doctor called me to discuss my mum within 20 minutes. Perhaps this is the norm but not where I life when you wait on hold for 45 minutes in a phone queue only to be disconnected and you’ve more chance of speaking to the Pope than a doctor! So well done to you all at West Way wonderful service always only wish I still lived in Maghull and could be under your care. Thank you for everything you are all amazing!
