  1. Review titled Miracle cure for Asthma?

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 March 2024

Having enquired why as an Asthmatic, I have not been called forward for a Flu or Covid injection this winter? I was telephoned and informed by a receptionist at Nhs Blunsdon Surgery today, that as I had not requested any medication since 2021 (I have Ventolin inhalers and I was a volunteer for a the Singulair Asthmatic drug trial, initiated by this very Nhs Blunsdon Surgery), I am not entitled to continued Nhs Flu or Covid vaccinations? As I have not been examined by a Doctor, I am not aware of any known cure for Asthma, or Covid, therefore, I informed the caller that I must have had a miracle intervention since my last prescription for Montelukast and Ventolin? Not only was this telephone call mis-informed, this level of Nhs service presents a real risk to life of other Asthmatics attending Nhs Blunsdon Surgery. I am over 60 years old and served my country in the Royal Air Force, where I was diagnosed with Asthma at King Edward vii Hospital, Midhurst. Never in my whole Raf service or civilian working life, have I been so embarrassed of relying on the Nhs to deliver a potentially life saving vaccinations in support of Asthmatics, which really is a miracle!

  2. Review titled The System Works

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Marion Hewett - Posted on 19 July 2022

Recently I needed an appointment. I went on-line and booked a routine appointment 4 days in the future. My symptoms worsened in this time so I phoned to see if I could attend earlier. I needed to ring back at 8am the next day which I did. The receptionist was efficient and caring and made an appointment for me that day. The doctor I saw examined me and prescribed antibiotics (many years since I had those) but he assured me they were needed. The doctor didn’t rush me although I was conscious this was an emergency appointment and I had been slotted into the system! I wanted to convey that ‘the system’ does work. I have read so many reports on how difficult it is to get a doctors appointment but I am grateful to Westrop Surgery. I have been a grateful patient for many, many years and intend to remain one.
