I was requested a blood test for biochemistry only once I had done the blood test they requested another for haematology even though they could have done that in the first place it’s taken ages to get a blood test appointment and now I have to book another

I cannot praise this surgery enough. I have been registered with them since 1985 and cannot fault them in anyway. Through the years if anything the surgery has not only grown but has improved. They offer a vast array of services. There is always an urgent appointment if you need one. They are quick to respond and quick to act. Despite a growing patient list and an understandable wait sometimes in a phone queue you are always treated with care. Twice recently I've gone to the surgery (both urgent same day appointments) with a symptom that to my surprise prompted the doctor to fast track me. I'm incredibly grateful as both occasions have resulted in cancer which has been resolved quickly. The staff from reception to secretarial, the doctors to the nurses and additional services such as physio are all approachable, knowledgeable and kind. You feel valued and looked after. On a scale of 5 out of 5 stars I would give Western Road 10 if I could.

Review titled Impossible to get through to them

I recently had to change to this GP surgery because we were evicted from my beloved home since the landlord wanted to sell the house. I have been registered with this surgery since April 2022 but it is impossible to get my repeat description through them since they either did not send it to my pharmacy. I already went there three times and one time the GP sent a one time description. I cannot ask through the NHS app online since I need a code from them and they just never answer their telephone lines. I miss my previous surgery where I had better service. Also,there is no parking anywhere close and you have to go the a commercial parking lot,so it costs me unnecessary money each time I try to resolve the prescription problem.

I highly recommend this practice. I’m always able to get an appointment if it’s an emergency, especially if that is for my child. They’re very accommodating. The times to get a scheduled appointment, unfortunately, has increased over the years, but I believe it’s a national issue. Overall, the care and service they provide is excellent. The receptionists are very polite and the general practice manager very approachable. Some of the doctors have been there for years and provide very good care.
