    Please thank Dr S (GP registrar) for seeing my son with tonsillitis so quickly, kindly and efficiently today. We phoned the practice at 2pm, were seen at 3.35 (5 mins early for our appointment at 3.40), by 4 pm we were in Central Pharmacy and by 4.15 he had had his first dose of penicillin. It's a difficult time in primary care but WHMC has always been very very good to us. Thank you all very much.

    After a series of unsatisfactory dealings with another local medical practice I joined West Hampstead Medical Centre as a patient 2 years ago. At a time when many practices are struggling, I have been very happy with this clinic's support of its patients. Specifically: 1. Office administration is helpful and efficient, and even at peak times reception answers the telephone speedily; 2. One can nearly always obtain a face-to-face appointment on the same day with the clinician of one’s choice; 3. There is continuity of care with the same doctor; 4. The Practice seems to have effective links with hospital consultants and concerns are rapidly answered by text message; 5. This medical centre uses technology to streamline its services rather than seeking to hide behind it. This is a glowing review because I am a very satisfied patient. So much so that my family have also joined the Practice.

    I have moved around a lot and other GP practices don't compare. My experience is always positive, the doctors listen and care about providing good quality care and the admin staff are amazing, always kind, helpful, organised and there is a sense of good leadership within the practice. Never have to wait or beg for a Drs appointment when unwell.

    The practice service has deteriorated over the last year. Getting an appointment is quite difficult - impossible - if you're working - good luck. Repeat prescription service is a mess - ran out of prescriptions thrice because the pharmacy and the surgery could not communicate!

    Dear Patient Thank you for your comments. We are sorry to hear about your recent experience. If you would be happy to provide further information to us, we can look into the precise details of what occurred with your prescription. In regards to the appointments, we are sorry that you have had difficulties with the process. We have several different types and ways of booking a suitable appointment with a clinician including our physicians’ associates. You can call the surgery each weekday morning at 8.30am if you need to book a same day GP appointment or you can also do this online. Some of our online appointments are also released the night before at 8pm as well. If there is an issue that cannot wait until the next day and all the same day appointments are gone we also have a Duty Doctor available each day. NHS 111 can also book appointments throughout our clinics as they have special dedicated slots. Furthermore, we have enhanced hour’s appointments twice a week as well as on some scheduled Saturdays. Getting the right balance of on the day, pre-bookable, online, telephone & face to face appointments as well as econsults, duty doctor, urgent 111 appointments, home visits, nursing, physician associate and pharmacist appointments etc capacity is not easy and we do try to adjust accordingly.     I have only praise for the practice at 9 Solent Road and its doctors, nurses and other staff. They are polite, efficient and caring, and I have been able to see a doctor or speak to someone straight away.

    Another pleasant experience on 1st Dec 22 when I visited the surgery.Doctor was brilliant and as always I was very satisfied with my check ups and advise from the doctor. Administration and reception staff are very courteous and accommodating. Indeed this is a great practice.

    When I experienced a period of severe abdominal pain, I phoned the practice and was offered an appointment the same day. The doctor I saw was very patient, gave me a thorough examination, performed a test in the surgery, ordered other hospital tests, and requested an abdominal ultrasound. After all the hospital procedures were done, the doctor had the admin staff contact me to make an appointment to review the results. Although the original pain had largely abated, and the tests had not shown up any major problems, I was still experiencing some symptoms. So the doctor ordered some further tests, one of which revealed a possible cause for concern. As a result I have been referred to gastroenterology. My medical problem is as yet unresolved. But for the kindness, thoroughness and professionalism with which I have been treated, I give the doctor 11 out of 10.
