Review titled Welcoming, Caring & Respectful Surgery
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Deborah R. - Posted on 08 April 2025
I had to change surgeries last year and have been a patient at the Wellington Health Centre for the past 6 months. I've visited the practise in person several times, and have had many telephone interactions too. In all my contact with the practise, I have been very pleasantly surprised and delighted with the friendly, polite and respectful service provided by its staff. Both of the permanent reception staff show a level of professionalism, kindness and respect towards all patients that I have never seen before at any other practise (in 40 years as an adult); they are both exceptional and are a credit to the GP surgery. The practise nurse, whom I have visited on 3 occasions so far, is also thoroughly welcoming, kind and professional. The practise manager was also incredibly helpful and informative when I first enquired as a new patient. Change is not always easy, but in this case, it has been so refreshing and reassuring to have found a new surgery with such high quality, caring, professional employees.

Review titled A referral that changed me
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Ros - Posted on 25 April 2025
Thank you for all your trust in me as a patient. Really listening to my concerns and taking them as seriously as I do. From our pain relief discussions and treatments when I had severe, incapacitating low back pain to prostate tests. Your latest initiative for a lung check and diagnosis of early emphysema, made me stop smoking completely, and most likely will make a huge difference in my future health. Thank you all ( including your lovely and very professional and polite reception staff ).

Review titled Excellent practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Wim Hance - Posted on 23 October 2024
My blood pressure is being monitored by the practice nurse, who is terrific. I recently needed to refer myself to an alternative hospital concerning an ongoing health issue, and the practice staff went beyond expectations in facilitating the change. This is an excellent practice staffed by conscientious professionals. I am very happy with the service provided, and I commend them unreservedly.

Review titled Poor Care & Difficult to Make Appointments
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 November 2024
I have spent several hours on the phone trying to secure an appointment with this clinic only to be cut off when I reach the top of the queue. This has happened multiple times. I had an appointment with a Trainee Doctor who was unable to prescribe me any medication and was advised to make another appointment for a prescription of birth control. For other maladies I received a follow up message telling me to seek alternative private solutions for these issues, despite these treatments being listed on the NHS website. Additionally they initially declined to take over a prescription previously provided by a private doctor, despite it being a medication covered by the NHS. And finally, I cancelled one appointment with them due to a scheduling conflict, this took me considerable time to contact the clinic and despite having cancelled with their staff, later received a text from the clinic telling me that I had failed to cancel my appointment and denied them the opportunity of assisting someone else in my absence.

Good afternoon, I am sorry to read your review and it sounds as if you have experienced a fault on the line. I would be grateful if you would please contact the practice to discuss this as we do not have a holding facility which allows patients to hold for 30 minutes, so I would like to investigate the matter further with dates and times. Please email whcadmin@nhs.net with your details and I will call you directly. Thank you. The Practice Manager
