    We joined this surgery ever since moving over to this side of Stanmore and so far so good. I find the environment to be comfortable in the waiting area although it would probably need to be increased in size for the number of patients that attend. I attended last year for an eye related issue and the doctor was attentive and referred me with no problems. The telephone system could be improved with less wait times.

    I have a very bad experiences with the receptionist at Watling medical centre Stanmore not once but couples of time. To be honest I have never given bad reviews in my life but the receptionist is extremely rude and inconsiderate in all sense to deal with the patients including me and my daughter.

    Today my husband had a chest complaint and I had a suspicious mole. Rang the surgery early morning and got an immediate appointment. Husband referred for further examination. My mole after inspection not suspicious. I was also given my blood test results from another Center within 5 days. Every time we have an issue with our health, the care and professionalism has been outstanding. The staff are so patient and attentive. They ensure we are kept in the loop with texts and phone calls so that we never become anxious and are aware of specifics and the process that is current. We know that we can depend on their expert advice and help. I cannot recommend this surgery highly enough. In a time when so many services are under pressure we never feel this here. It feels personal, welcoming and understanding of our needs. We are so fortunate to have this wonderful practice and its exemplary staff taking care of us.

    It's extremely difficult to get through to speak to an administrative staff to get an appointment to see a GP. If you are lucky enough to get through, the call handler will tell you to call at 8am next day but when you call at 8am, you are put on a queue and when it nearly your turn, you are disconnected. I am having some very concerning symptoms requiring to see a GP but not able to get one. appointment

    Dear Patient First I would like to apologise for not replying earlier. Getting through on the phone is regrettably very difficult, particularly first thing in the morning. We offer between 200-300 appointments a day and very often, those are all taken by 9am. 85-89% of the calls that queue are answered by our receptionists. However, at the time of your writing, we have regrettably experienced technical issues with NHS internet provider which affected our phone lines, causing the lines to get cut off. We have been told by NHS that internet connection for us and number of local surgeries has now (since end of 2023), been improved. I would like to mention that instead of queuing on the phone, you can also submit e-Consult via our website www.watlingmedicalcentre.com e-Consults are open from 7-11.30am or they close earlier if the daily target is reached. Once submitted, you will be contacted by an appropriate clinician within 48 working hours. Once again, apologies for my late reply. Kind regards Practice Manager
