Review titled Terrible service and impossible to get appointments
Rated 1 star out of 5

Having tried since February to get an appointment or to even get into the queue to be triaged, I finally succeeded this week after home tests showed my daughter and I both have anaemia and need to see a GP urgently. As this has been going on since January and I provided home tests from January and from this week having taken iron tablets daily in-between, one would expect it to be taken seriously. We hardly ever use NHS services so only call the GP if it's really serious. Despite the serious nature and potential serious health issue suggested by the home test, while my daughter did get a blood test appointment, I didn't even warrant a text or phone call back. Despite providing written consent as requested the receptionist refused to speak to me about my child because she is 17 and said she should phone. I explained she is at school and unable to use a phone, it's against the rules and the reception is not open when she gets home from school. This is why we provided a written consent two days ago. She said it hasn't been processed and my daughter has to phone. I explained again why she cannot phone and asked her to access the consent. She just kept repeating my daughter has to phone (opposite advice of the receptionist who told us to send written consent!). It was like being in the twilight zone, going round in circles and she just refused to help. Coupled with the fact I had to use a private GP to diagnose the last two health issues I had (over 5 years ago) when Warrior Square GPs failed to spot very clear symptoms and the fact my last two blood tests resulted in extremely painful very large bruises because the practice nurse seems incapable of taking blood even from very good clear veins, I am now at the end of my tether. There is no sense they care about patients at all. They don't listen. Most of the time when you call an answerphone message tells you to call back. If you're lucky enough to get into the queue it's a minimum 45 minute wait. It's impossible when you work and have limited time to call as the only chance is to call at 8am when most working people are travelling. I have reached the end of the road after the latest issues and will be moving to another practice. I would strongly warn other patients to avoid this failing practice at all costs.
