  1. Review titled PATIENT CARE IS NIL!

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been with this surgery for more than 2 year and I have to say they provide an appalling service. The reception and practice manager is of no help. Seeking an appointment and repeat prescriptions is hell. Many times I have requested to book appointments and order prescription online via an app over 2 years but all in vain. When calling the reception for an appointment I have to wait for 4-5 hours minimum to just get through reception, inspite of all the effort an appointment won't be available. The service is so terrible that once I was physically present in the surgery to book an appointment but still I was asked to call to book a doctors appointment! I have a long term condition and every single time I request medication, I am only given 10 tablets to be re-ordered again. What is the point of having a repeat prescription for LTC? I am always calling 111 for my prescription which is an added cost to NHS. If the GP services are there to provide primary care they should do that well so that patients do not rely on other services like A&E and 111 which adds further cost to the system and NHS is always overspending. Patient CARE is about giving care and not to put patients through HELL!!! Well this practice has..... :-(

Dear Patient, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I will respond to you directly via email however I would like to assure you we are dedicated to safe prescribing and will only restrict your repeat ordering when you are overdue blood tests or annual reviews. You will be issued a two weeks supply of medication to ensure you have a sufficient supply and give you time to book an appointment as requested. It is essential these reviews take place to ensure we can support and manage your long term condition effectively. When you have attended the appointment, your results and medication will be reviewed and the monthly ordering will resume. Additionality, I will also look into your telephone calls to the surgery as we had a new phone system implemented in December and following a recent survey the average waiting time was 20 minutes. Again, I apologize for any inconvenience and distress this has caused. I would encourage patients to attend review appointments to avoid this issue becoming a reoccurring problem. Kind Regards Gemma Mooney Practice Manager
