Always had a good experience with this practice, but today, with an elderly relative, they were outstanding. Patient, kind, thorough & expert. Thank you

I had been suffering with an health problem which over time got worst..I submitted a request to see a doctor on that day at 8.15 am..they rang around 9.30 am and offered me an appointment for the afternoon..the general practitioner that saw me was professional, caring and put me at ease whilst showing me empathy...she prescribed some medication after examining me which has really helped and said to contact her again if the problem did not clear up...so praise where praise is due...I recommend this practice .

After being unable to access my GP via "ask my gp" I decided to pop in to the practice in person with a letter detailing several tests I needed in order to be put on the transplant list, the receptionist could have taken the letter and scanned it or maybe even given it to a doctor, instead she said the words we all love to hear, you will have to go on ask my gp!!! So as this is an extreme sport trying to get on before its full I really cant be bothered! Thank you so much for all your help and assistance.

  4. Review titled Sad demise of a once great Practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

A Dr. from this practice delivered me 73 years ago in my granny's front room. I have been with them ever since. Until covid struck it was so easy to book an appointment. Now everything is on line. I too have been into the surgery to try and book an appointment. It would be easier to get an audience with the pope. I found the receptionist to be officious, patronising and dismissive. I don't own a computer so have taught myself to use my phone to send emails etc. Some elderly people aren't as fortunate and there are many of us who are not computer literate. What if you can't access Ask my G.P.? I find the way the elderly are treated by certain receptionists to be despicable. Urgent training is required. It's such a shame because once you eventually get to see a doctor they are lovely.

A 2 hour window to get through the totally impersonal online "ask my GP" fiasco. Often "offline" during this period. Nobody answers the phone. Urmston group practice has built a very effective wall between itself & the patients. I'm sure it works well for the practice & the oh so important receptionists. Advice.. don't grow old in Urmston
