  1. Review titled Patient for ~4 years, honestly rather good practice overall

Staff are friendly, very good appointment availability, very accepting of trans patients (willing to do shared care arrangements with private gender services, willing to refer patients to the endless waiting list of the NHS's gender services, willing to call patients by their preferred names). Allowed me to get crucial help with stuff like depression (managed to get a diagnosis and some antidepressants whilst I was in a particularly terrible mental state), pneumothoraxes (first time I had one, they managed to get me a very prompt outpatient referral to get a chest x-ray at the hospital, where I found out that the problem was a pneumothorax and could easily get into A&E and get seen relatively soon), unexplained rectal bleeding (allowing me to promptly have some tests done to diagnose the cause of it, and working with the local hospital to manage/monitor the problem), a couple of ear problems (such as a very blocked ear that required syringing, or an ear infection I had earlier on this year out of the blue), gender dysphoria, as well as ongoing monitoring/help with my existing health conditions. Logistics of being a patient here are rather good too. Staff are very helpful during phone appointments (When needed, I usually just book the first available appointment (regardless of who the appointment is with), and all the staff members I have interacted with have all been incredibly helpful - just bear in mind that the 'am' and 'pm' appointments on the NHS app mean 'at some point in the morning' and 'at some point in the afternoon', rather than at any specific time), and, for in-person appointments, the location of the surgery right in the middle of the University of Essex campus makes it very convenient for any students living on-campus at the university to get to any appointments that need to be done in-person. Overall, definitely a very good GP surgery, and has done a very good job at helping me to survive over the past 4 years.

I would like to thank the reception and doctors who did kindly their best to help me with my health condition.
