  1. Review titled Surgery phone contact

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I have just booked an appointment at Peel GPs, which is great, but it took 3 phonecalls; over 2 weeks, and 2hrs & 45 mins on hold!!! Unfortunately, I had the old number ending 1515, which was no longer in use, but was still active, with the recorded message in place. There was nothing in that message that informed users of the new, more efficient number they could call. With all the technology available, it is unacceptable that this number is still active because it cannot be accessed to either update the message, or to take it out of use. Thankfully, my condition is not urgent, but I would be very worried for other users who need more immediate care, and were also unaware of the phone number change. However, on the positive side, once I found the new number for the surgery, it was both quick, and efficient, and I did not have to wait on hold as the service offers call back. The receptionist was also helpful up until the point he terminated the call without so much as a ' goodbye' .

  2. Review titled On hold for 2hrs

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I had a phone appointment with my GP, which was fine, and I found the GP helpful. However, the GP asked me to make an appointment for a blood test, and when I said I was unable to book on the NHS app as it didn't offer that option, they told me to call the surgery direct, which I did, straight away. I got through, but was put on hold. After 2 hours, I had to end the call, as I was trying to work whilst on hold. I have not been able to make an appointment. The voice message asks that patients please be patient, and are not abusive to staff, but after over 120 mins of being on hold, it is no wonder that people are at the end of their patience. Thankfully, I am not seriously ill, but i would be extremely worried if I had this experience every time I needed to call the surgery. I still have no appointment. I am not happy.

  3. Review titled Helpful Receptionist

Rated 5 stars out of 5

One day my young child needed to leave a sample and the receptionist went above and beyond to ensure this could be done easily and without causing distress. As a mum, she really put me at ease and helped to diffuse a stressful situation. The response to the askmyGP service is quick and I've also always been able to speak to someone on reception over the phone to arrange appointments etc if needed. Positive experiences with GPs and nursing staff. Great practice overall.

  4. Review titled Terrible practice extremely difficult to contact

Rated 1 star out of 5

Trying to get an appointment is impossible. If you get through on telephone you are told to submit via Ask my GP then request online to be advised no available appointments and request closed. Can not get to speak to a GP and any request via Ask my GP whatever it is gets closed without being resolved. Extremely rude reception staff.
