  1. Review titled Warm, family-friendly practice, safe pair of hands

Rated 5 stars out of 5

We've been with Tower House Surgery for a decade and it has been a largely positive experience. Obviously no place is perfect. Getting appointment is unfortunately a bit of a lottery ticket but this is not peculiar to Tower House. However, their doctors are positively wonderful, caring, and committed. Their asthma treatment management is world class. Their doctors and of course the very cheerful nursing staff really care about their patients.

Dear Patient, Thank you for sparing the time to give such lovely feedback. We are aware of so many issues that can be frustrating to patients and we try so very hard to prevent these however sometimes we just can't stretch anymore. That is why such feedback is very much appreciated to show our team that it really is worth their efforts. I will certainly pass your comments on. Many thanks Beth Sergiou Practice Manager

  2. Review titled Expedient referral

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Yasmin - Posted on 08 March 2023

I have had a flair up of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis in the past weeks. My visits to the surgery have been efficient and very fruitful. Each time I have seen the paramedic staff who were very empathetic and kind. My condition is frustrating and tiring which they understood and were able to give me appropriate creams and meds to help ease the symptoms for me. They have also referred me to Reumatology and Dermatology specialist and I am pleasantly surprised to have my first appointment within 3 weeks. I really appreciate the care and attention to detail and to make me feel at ease and comfort. Thank you so much.

  3. Review titled Staff are supportive

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I was called by the surgery regarding a letter they had received from secondary care. Call was unexpected for me. I was busy at the time of the call and they agreed to call me later at a time that was more convenient. The Pharmacist who called me to ask a question about the contents was really helpful and supportive. Considering she wasn't expecting the call to involve me not to be in a good way at the time of the call. She was patient and listened and without her call I don't think I would have called in to ask for what I needed. She helped remind me that I needed help and has put things in place to allow for me to be supported medically, so I can focus on what I need to right now.

After passing on the knowledge to my doctor that I had a fear of needles they helped me out a great deal. My doctor made the blood test that I had done very very manageable to me, they were fast and precise and event went above and beyond in getting my results back to me very quickly. I couldn’t recommend the staff at Tower House enough!

  5. Review titled Receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 February 2023

I called the practice today to request some more milk thickner for my 2 month old daughter who suffers with reflux. I have done this twice before over the phone and there has been no problems. I would like you to bare in mind I live half hour walk away from the practice and do not drive. When I called I was told that there was nothing they could do but come and put a prescription in at the practice as this is the new rules. I appreciate that very much but my daughter in on her very last bit of thickner and needs it desperately otherwise she suffers with reflux, the receptionist rudely told me that it was my fault and I should have given it a week before it ran out. Number one, the milk thickner only lasts a week and number two if you had given warning to all patients before this rule change then nobody would have this problem. I feel it is ridiculous that I am made to walk all the way there just to put in a new prescriptions every week. I explained all of this to her just to be met with one minute of silence before she hangs up on me. I'm not normally one to complain like this as the receptionists are usually very pleasant but I feel guilty now that my daughter will suffer with reflux as the receptionist made me feel like this. I have since brought some myself out of pocket which I can't really afford at the moment as I am that desperate. Just give people more of a warning next time, it's not hard.

Dear Anonymous, It is difficult for me to answer this without being specific about your interactions with the surgery. We have not taken prescription requests over the phone for some years now. I would be more than happy to discuss your situation further with you. Kind regards Beth Sergiou Practice Manager

  6. Review titled Excellent, thorough care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by ELP - Posted on 17 January 2024

I have been fortunate enough to be with this practice since I moved to High Wycombe in 2008. I have seen several doctors over the years, all helpful, kind, and professional. Recently I saw one of the senior partners who gave her usual top notch care: pro-active, efficient, reassuring. Also, for a cold that had developed into tonsilities and a sinus infection, I was able to see one the practice's paramedics on the day I contacted the surgery. A thorough exam and a prescription from her soon sorted out my condition. A new system is in place which makes it much easier to see a health care professional in good time and I have always been grateful and pleased with the care I have received including thorough examinations, proactive referrals, and help with prescriptions.

Dear ELP, Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback, it really means a lot to the team. We have received a positive response from most patients regarding the triage system for on the day appointments and website bookings for routine appointments. Sadly we still have a lot of appointments not attended which is a source of great frustration as you can imagine. I will certainly pass on your feedback. Kind regards Beth Sergiou Practice Manager

  8. Review titled Fantastic Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Chantal Rowland - Posted on 27 January 2023

I’ve had an illness for several weeks and had a few in surgery and phone appointments. I cannot stress enough how impressed I have been with the service and care I’ve received. Both doctors I saw were exceptional they were caring, explained why I’m feeling so poorly and detailed the medication I was receiving and why. The receptionists were also very polite and understanding during all calls.

  9. Review titled Terrible

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 31 January 2023

This surgery was a good place years ago easy to be seen and care at the front desk but sadly now is unable to do the basics required by patients. Receptionists are rude in a place where people need the first contact to be caring and helpful. Making an appointment with a doctor is almost impossible with 'lines are at capacity, call back later' what you are greeted with when calling. When no other option but to visit the Surgury in person you are told you have to call by phone. Messages through the online portal say will be replied to within 2 days, but are ignored and never responded too. The whole practice seems in need of an update.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for your feedback regarding your experience with us. Unfortunately the demand for appointments is exceptionally high and this is a national problem. We are aware that the phone lines are very busy, however we have found it to be a 'fairer' way to ensure patients are dealt with in order rather than people coming into reception. As we are not a purpose built premises, people coming to reception causes more problems in the car park and reception itself is too small to have large amounts of people in it. The review suggests you visited in December which is always a particularity busy month due to Influenza and sickness bugs etc without more information I am unable to comment specifically. I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed in the website, since it's launch we have received overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding it. As you have submitted this review anonymously I can not look into where this fell down but I would urge you to contact myself so that I may do so. Many thanks Beth Sergiou Practice Manager
