Review titled Lack of medical knowledge around pediatric
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Laura - Posted on 29 May 2025
Staff are nice enough but just don't seem to keep updated on knowledge. Was advised to give up dairy to test Cmpa months ago but no advice to take supplements to ensure no calcium deficiency and no check in since despite being there multiple times since. Lack of knowledge when looking at lump on babies head- just constantly get told they aren't sure with things. Worst thing was when I went this week after testing solids for allergens and having slight concern over possible wheat allergy (they diagnosed viral). I was seen by a female doctor and two medical students. The female doctor said I shouldn't be weaning my baby on same food as me (baby led weaning) when tried to explain Blw to her and that there is Nhs guidance on finger foods for six months she said no and to give baby rice instead which has zero nutritional value. I said this to her and she said it's not about nutrition it's about not being a choking hazard and for practice. I gave up at this point to discuss further as she was very adamant and knew nothing of Blw or current Nhs guidance ( I know main source of nutrition isn't from solids but why bother giving my baby something that isn't advised on anymore) also then the student doctor suggested I put honey on my six months old dummy to encourage to use it again. They were lovely but this is such dangerous advice to new mum's who may not know better but again Nhs says no honey before one due to risk of botulism. Staff need retraining in pediatrics

Review titled Poor service Receptionist rude
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 May 2025
I have had yet again the most unpleasant experience from the firing squad aka your receptionist she was rude and abrupt and practically calling me a liar on the call, I could also hear another call going on in the background and yet again it was a receptionist arguing with someone on a call. These receptionists need to understand they are only receptionist and not medical professionals so shouldn’t be acting like they are. It would be fantastic and would help the practice massively if they had some training on attitude and empathy they are rude and abrupt!!!!!!

I am so sorry to learn of your experience with our reception staff. Our receptionist's are trained Care Navigators to help direct you to the most appropriate person to deal with your request and therefore do have to ask for clinical information relating to your problem. Strict protocols are followed set by our GP's. All Care Navigators receive rigorous training in customer care and care navigation. All of our telephone calls are recorded for training purposes and also to help us deal with comments of this nature. If you would like to discuss this further please contact our Reception Manager or Practice Manager where we can look into this matter further and investigate your call made to the practice. Many thanks
