Review titled Awful system
Rated 1 star out of 5

Ask my GP is a completely inaccessible service. There are very few clinicians at the practice I am willing to book appointments for. Certain clinicians caused me anxiety, coming across condescending and patronising and ignoring what I was saying. Dealt with one clinician who clearly didn’t value what I was saying and ignored me wanting a referral for dementia for my grandmother because of my age. I had to send my mother who she then was willing to listen to and got the referral (shockingly, yes she has dementia). Could’ve gotten the diagnosis a bit earlier if that staff member was willing to listen. Staff can be very unhelpful in solving issues. You can only book appointments in small windows of the day, it is very difficult having this practice as my doctors surgery and it’s the worse one I’ve had. The few clinicians who I feel have treated me with basic respect which is only one doctor, one nurse and one nurse practitioner are the only good thing about having this is as my doctors surgery, if I’m ever able to actually get an appointment with them

Review titled Extremely rude staff, made to feel a nuisance
Rated 1 star out of 5

Following a trip to A&E with a severely inflamed tonsil (their words) and a very swollen gland in my neck, I was prescribed antibiotics and advised to take normal pain relief. Unfortunately normal strength pain relief was providing no relief at all, it takes a lot of strength to just just swallow my own saliva, let alone drink or eat. After being up from 1am in excruciating pain two nights in a row I called the surgery to see if they would kindly provide me with some stronger pain relief whilst the antibiotics get into my system as the pain had gotten worse since my trip to a&e and was now effecting my ear. I just wanted to be able to sleep and swallow my own saliva without being in ridiculous amounts of pain. I was told it was not a medical emergency and I ‘should’ be able to cope for another couple of days whilst I wait for the antibiotics to kick in. The lady on reception was awful, she kept huffing, was extremely condescending and made me feel as though I was completely wasting her time. She then told me that if I really feel a sore throat is a medical emergency then I should just go back to a&e. Why is it so hard to just have a 5 minute call with a Doctor so that they can prescribe me some stronger pain relief?? Instead I end up coming off the phone in tears because I’ve practically begged the lady for help with the pain and she’s made me feel as though I was being a complete burden. What has happened to this surgery? Why do the staff feel the need to be so rude to people?

Review titled Inadequate

In my two years of dealing with this practice both myself and my husband have had nothing but negative experiences, from inability to get an appointment to misdiagnoses and simple dismissal we have finally decided to switch to a different surgery in the area. The final straw was contacting the surgery for severe morning sickness and being told ‘not our problem go to A&E’ - when following up with friends who were GPs they were appalled that a GP would send a pregnant woman to A&E to wait for hours rather than assessing for anti sickness medication on site. Ask my GP is a shambles, good luck getting through. Running a practice that only offers same day appointments is a joke, especially when you’re given the option of a short notice appointment or nothing, does this practice not understanding most people have jobs and need to give notice for time off, and travel. I don’t think either of us have seen the same doctor twice, and any time we’ve managed to get an appointment we’ve had to beg to be taken seriously. Reception come across as unhelpful, but honestly I think they can only offer as much help as the GPs are prepared to let them give. I can’t imagine they have an easy time dealing with so many unhappy patients a week. Overall review is 0/10 would not recommend to anyone, and from speaking to others in the area I can confirm it’s a 100% consensus.
