Whenever we call them they reply rudely and most of the time wont give gp appointment even in emergency. I asked to give me and her behaviour was so rude and she said something and put the call off.

I don’t usually write reviews but after reading some of the comments on here I feel someone has to stick up for the hard working, professional and friendly staff at spires. I’ve been a patient for 4 years and even through the tough times through covid each and everyone of the staff, especially one of the older receptionist who is always willing to help, puts me at ease and if she promises to call back or reply to a question she will always do. The reception staff are always cheerful and pleasant under some very difficult circumstances which I have been witness to more than once. Doctors and the nurses have always treated me with respect and dignity. I don’t know how they all keep going through the stress. Keep up the good work all best practice around

Reception staff are the most wonderful helpful people, a shame they’re out under so much pressure and stress from the public… Always have an excellent experience, clean surgery, brilliant staff, well skilled doctors and nurses.

Called up this morning for an emergency appointment due to being told to call back first thing. The receptionist who took my call was disgustingly rude an real cold! No customer service skills what so ever she needs striking off I’m now leaving doctors due to this disgusting behaviour! Not the first time this has happened with this receptionist! Her exact words may I add was “what do you want me to do about it” absolutely vile! I will not be returning to this practice which is a shame because the doctors are lovely but losing patients because of reception staff isn’t right something needs to change! I see I’m not the only one who thinks this via recent reviews!

I have had to take my daughter to the spires recently on two seperate occasions. For the first visit we got through to a friendly receptionist who booked my daughter an emergency telephone appointment on the same day after an initial consultation over the phone we were asked to come in and we were given an appointment to see a doctor within the hour. The doctor was very thorough and prescribed treatment. The second time was an appointment with the nurse who as always was very friendly, helpful and informative. I have always been very pleased with our experience at the spires from reception to the doctors and nurses. I know many of my family and friends feel the same. Thankyou spires

I have recently had cause to contact my practice. Staff are polite and professional. I managed to get a telephone consultation with my Doctor, as promised by receptionist on day in question, followed by a quick appointment in person.Consultation was thorough with pleasant, empathetic Doctor, and further action as agreed/discussed has been arranged quickly.Cannot fault practice for promptness.(Although consultation is at investigative stage, I am impressed so far). Was previously with another surgery, absolutely no comparison what so ever, I am a satisfied patient.

I went spires on the 22nd august to ask if i could make an appointment to find out what is happening about an operation on my fingers,i was told the next date would be on the 14th september,i asked him if he was joking as there was only 1 person in the waiting room,he completely ignored me so i just laughed at him and walked out,we have to find another practise.

Dear Patient. Thank you for you review, the content is noted. Sometimes patient’s do not need to make an appointment to discuss progress of a referral, this can be actioned by a member of the team without the need for you to see a GP. If you did require an appointment then the next routine appointment may be a couple of weeks away however we provide several other options, for example Same Day appointments for urgent health issues, appointments with our Extended Hours Service, Clinical Pharmacists, Physicians Associate, Practice Nurse and Advanced Nurse Practitioner. I am sorry that you feel we did not help you when you visited the surgery please contact us and we will be happy to try and help.

Since covid spires health centre is no longer taking blood tests what a joke full time workers like myself have to go all the way to a hospital when it would be 5 mins at the doctors.
