  1. Review titled No appointments, no answer the call

Rated 1 star out of 5

by karyna - Posted on 14 March 2023

My son has pain in his ears, I tried to call the Gp since 8am exactly and the call is not completely, saying they are extremally busy. The receptionist answered the phone 3pm, didn't ask my sons age, just said " we don't have appointments, call 111.

Dear patient We are sorry that you found booking an appointment over the phone difficult for your son. Please review our home page to see how you can book appointments via your phone or compute utilising the two apps we gave available, the NHS App and the ask first app. We do promote this way of accessing appointments to minimise telephone traffic for those who can utilise booking of appointments online or via the aforementioned apps. Our homepage can be found at www.queensroadpartnership.co.uk. Please feel free to pop in to talk to one of our care navigators for further help and support if needed.

Dear Patient many thanks for your positive feedback. We have tried to stagger the release of appointments throughout the week to minimise the 8am rush for appointments. We have also adopted digital telephony to enhance our patient experience when booking appointments. We will be sure to pass your feedback to the rest of the team

  3. Review titled Very bad practice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Al Alamein - Posted on 27 February 2023

It became impossible to get an appointment. Online appointment booking is disabled, on the phone to get through in the morning impossible. Last two times when I was promised phone appointment at reception nobody called me and later they refused even to acknowledge that there was an appointment. To see GP in person is the notion of the remote past.

Dear Patient we are sorry you had difficulty getting ghrough on the phone. There are of course heightened pressures on the NHS and so with your GP being the first port of call this has created additional demand. However, our average call wait times have consistently been less than five minutes for many months. We were pleased to share this at our last Patient Participation Group meeting (which can be found here- https://www.queensroadpartnership.co.uk/pages/Patient-Participation-Group) We are keen to hear from you to solve why your online access is disabled to book an appointment. Please also review our home page (here- https://www.queensroadpartnership.co.uk/ ) to consider downloading the NHS App and/or Ask first app to access appointments. Look forward to hearing from you Queens Road

  4. Review titled Great Team

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I have always been extremely happy with the GPs at this practice and that continues to be the case. While it is still difficult to make appointments, I am delighted to find that the staff on reception are far more friendly and helpful of late. There are some welcome new faces and their kind attitude makes such a difference. I have had to visit the surgery a few times over the past few months and can really see a difference on the front desk. Telephoning is still rather frustrating, but the introduction of a recording telling the caller where they are in the queue is most welcome. I saw a nurse last month and another nurse this week; they were both lovely and I felt cared for. I think the surgery is doing a really good job and the new staff on reception have made a huge difference to how one feels at that first stage of contact. Recently, one of the doctors telephoned me, unexpectedly, just to reassure me about an upcoming procedure with the nurse. I was so impressed by this, not least because it was the receptionist who had passed on my concerns. I can't praise them all enough, especially given the strain the service is under.

  5. Review titled Super helpful doctors... If you can get an appointment

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 September 2022

Availability of appointments is a constant challenge, but once you do eventually get an appointment (oft a phone appointment), the doctors make ample time for you to make a reliable diagnosis, and the interaction never feels rushed. Finally, doctors are prepared ahead of appointments, so they're already largely up to speed on your current, or recent past treatments. So this makes for an efficient encounter, without you needing to revisit history each and every time.

  6. Review titled Telephone Consultation

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Felt at ease to express my concerns as I have been going through a lot since I hurt my back while on duty as a healthcare professional. Excellent communication skills, made me feel as though I was in a face to face consultation though it was telephone consult. It was a pleasure to have my telephone consultation today as I have been off sick for almost 6 months & due to return to work soon. My gratitude for making a difference.

  9. Review titled The most inflexible booking service ever!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Shontelle Williams - Posted on 24 April 2023

Following a call with a private doctor, I was advised to get an in person appointment for a physical examination of my stomach but you can only get an appointment from 8am on the day- but by 8.15 all appointments were gone. I asked if I could book in advance and was told no- I needed to call back. The problem with this approach is that not everyone can call at 8am or attend an appointment on the day of calling- I work on the other side of London and am commuting at 8am. I would not have minded waiting a few weeks for an appointment but I was told no. I called back a few hours later only to be told that I can book an appointment in the future using the Ask NHS App. The first two times, this was not given to me as an option, despite asking repeatedly 'what are my options for booking an appointment'. Its not the first time that I have received conflicting information from staff- the same happened when I asked about travel vaccines- one receptionist said it could be done by a nurse and then when I turned up to book, the reception said that I needed to find a chemist who offered it. Either way, I find the booking service impossible. If you cant call by 8am and keep redialling you are screwed because by 8.20 all appointments are gone. I am now on my third day of trying to get an appointment- this time ill try the app. This service is a shambles and some order even if its vetting by staff to confirm whether an appointment on the day or in future is required should be introduced. Perhaps block out afternoons a few days a month for advance bookers, but something, just something is required. Ill be leaving this surgery- the service and building are a mess!

  10. Review titled Ask First App

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by GlenisT - Posted on 03 May 2022

I am so pleased my GP told me of this second app they are subscribed to as the Ask First app is so easy to use and access GP appointments! I no longer have to log onto the NHS app or use the telephone at a few minutes to 8am with the hope I might be able to book an appointment in the week. Ask First app gives a choice of non emergency appointments one can book and has made this process stress free! More people should use it but then again do I really want more "competition",lol! Well done Queens Road as I don't think all GPs subscribe to Ask First. I have been telling friends to find out if theirs does.

Dear Patient thank you for you good feedback in relation to access. We have tried to promote digital innovations in relation to access via our PPG, website and physical posters. We are very pleased that you have found our new local "ask first " app supportive. We will for sure pass on to the rest of the team to continue its promotion.
