    I have been a patient at Penrhyn Surgery for many years. I have received extremely satisfactory service from everyone during all this period, right from the reception staff all the way to the doctors. I have been given appointments whenever I have needed to see the doctors; I have been given timely referrals for follow-up tests with specialists and I have also had results communicated to me equally in a timely manner. I have found the doctors to be excellent not only in clinical care but also in the way to speak to me - they are polite, sensitive and professional. I find the practice to be clean and welcoming. I am aware the surgery is currently undergoing extensive renovation with a grand plan to improve on their already impressive services. For me the practice is nothing short of excellent.

    Penrhyn Surgery has served me well over the years. I find the staff easy to approach and always helpful. From repeat prescriptions to managing by personal healthcare is easy with Penrhyn Surgery. Within the last two years, they have installed a weight and blood pressure monitoring machine in the reception area. This machine makes easy to manage my blood pressure and monitor my health. I find it easy to use and a very innovative solution. You don’t need an appointment and can just walk in and manage your personal health. The GP and his team really deserve the credit for making this happen. I can see a lot of improvements going on within the surgery and it is comforting to know that they will be there for many years to come.

    I have been a loyal patient at Penrhyn Surgery for several years, consistently experiencing outstanding care for both myself and my family. Even though my daughters have relocated, they have chosen to continue their care at the surgery due to the exceptional service they have consistently received.

    Polite and attentive reception staff and doctors with a very caring attitude towards patients . The focus on preventative care is very welcome to me , especially as I’m now retired . I feel as if I’m getting the best care and I’m so thankful for the NHS.

    My mum feels comfortable there with the doctors ,although she has speaking difficulties but they listen and patiently let her finish her questions,very good thing for them to do ,happy taken my mum there that’s why I want to register there now myself

    I changed from a previous family GP practice and I’ve not regretted moving my mother and I since. Yes appointments can be hard to get but when you do get one all doctors/nurses are great! Very attentive and always caring about their patients wellbeing.

    Staff abd doctors are very kind,and supportive. They have supported my family through bereavement. They also helped me with insurance application. My whole family have been well supported by the doctors and staff at the surgery.

    I had been under extreme stress from a multitude of unfortunate events which had led me to the point of exhaustion, anxiety and sleepless nights and was in need of a Dr's note for my absence at work in which I needed to take some time off to recalibrate. Prior to attending the surgery, I had spoken with my works occupational health team, who had assessed my situation and provided me with their feedback. The Dr at the surgery had asked me to come in to assess my situation face to face, was attentive listening to my issues. He had cited the surgery have a policy when administering sick notes, to which I had checked all the points that were outlined and as a result a sick note was handed to me to then send back to my workplace. Overall I'm very satisfied with the service.

    After negotiating press 1 , press 2 etc I finally joined the queue for apps, no.5 in the queue,after 15 minutes I was 'next 'after 20 minutes I got through to be told there were no appointments. What is the point of employing someone to say there are no appointments? Surely that could be a recorded message.

    Dear Patient Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’re sorry you had a bad experience. We’ll strive to do better. ” To begin with, we apologise for your negative experience. We try to allocate as many available appointments as on day to day. However, we have limited doctors on some days and offer appointments accordingly. We start answering calls from 08.00 in the morning, and within 10 to 15 minutes, we do not have available appointments. Therefore we inform the patient accordingly. Please visit the website https://www.penrhynsurgery.co.uk/our-appointment-system for more information. As you can understand, we need to act accordingly; therefore, having a recorded robotic reply on our phone system is inappropriate. However, your comment taught us that we must train call handlers and the reception team to signpost patients accordingly. Depending on the patient’s demand, we can train staff to give alternate options such as offering to see a local pharmacist, out-of-hours clinical appointments etc Please contact me with any further comments or suggestions you wish to share.
