  1. Review titled New appointment system

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by David Rate - Posted on 11 March 2024

My wife has been with this practice for a number of years and always been able to call on the day for an appointment. They have recently introduced the online only system (Not sure what elderly patients without Internet can do?) for daily appointments. My wife went to A&E on a Sunday because she was in so much pain and even though she put on the online form that the A&E doctor had said she should ask the doctors for blood tests, they wouldn't do this and arranged an appointment with a physiotherapist. I believe this maybe because the system uses AI and not a real person? Otherwise, surely they would have investigated further? And at least called to discuss the condition to see why blood tests had been recommended. My wife called the surgery to try to arrange blood tests but was told this was not possible as a physiotherapy appointment had been made. The receptionist was really helpful and did try to help but couldn't. She also agreed that the system is flawed. It would appear that if you word your online form not quite right, the system does not work. Just go back to a system that works whereby you actually get to describe your condition as it is to a person and a doctor or medical professional calls you back to discuss your condition. This would also avoid unnecessary appointments with physiotherapists. As a side note my wife had already seen a physiotherapist 2 weeks ago, completed exercises as shown and the condition had become worse (hence the visit to A&E).

  4. Review titled Call with Reception

Rated 1 star out of 5

Called mounts medical centre to discuss when I could speak/see a doctor to discuss my illness. Lady on reception was unhelpful and had a very bad attitude, did not want to help at all, and slammed phone down to hang up on me. Throughout the interaction Inwas calm and respectful.

  6. Review titled Telephone consultations

Rated 1 star out of 5

Just found out the doctors are at home when running telephone consultations. They cannot even be bothered to come into the surgery, let alone see a patient face to face. This surgery is not fit for purpose.

  7. Review titled Very poor

Rated 1 star out of 5

Far too long to answer calls for appointments (28 minutes). Went into surgery as no callback, to be asked for my 'personal' symptoms in front of a room full of strangers although no appointments today anyway & I need to ring at 8am tomorrow to go through it all again - pointless & embarrassing exercise. The receptionist did all this whilst eating. Obviously, their patients are not important enough to be treated with respect & in a professional manner. I will be looking to change GP surgeries.

  9. Review titled Awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 November 2022

Day 1 Eventually got through. No telephone consultations available that day. Have I tried Livi or Accident & Emergency? Or I can call tomorrow to make an appointment. Day 2 Got through after a number of attempts. Cannot give me an appointment as I can only see my doctor, but the receptionist has no idea where he is. Why don't I try physiotherapy? If the issue becomes worse go to Accident & Emergency. Or call back tomorrow to make an appointment. Day 3 First call was engaged. Then received an SMS saying only call if it is an emergency. I called as I want some answers. Receptionist answers with 'Emergency line, is this an emergency?'. I explain the situation. She goes away to speak to a clinician, who says try Accident & Emergency to get checked out. Accident & Emergency is for accidents and emergencies. This was neither. I needed 10 minutes to speak to a doctor. Mounts Medical Centre are doing everything to not see patients. For this one issue they have tried to palm me off to Accident & Emergency, Livi, and physiotherapy (which would just be a phone call and an email with some exercises).
