  1. Review titled Patchs....

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 February 2024

The simple answer to the Patchs fiasco (and it's predecessor, the dire telephone-wait-an-hour-then-still-not-get-an-appointment system) is an appointment book! Remember the good old days when you could just ring the surgery any time of day and see what appointments were available? And even book an appointment a week or so in advance for something non-urgent (thereby freeing up appointments for more urgent cases). It's not 'rocket-science'... On the positive side, after bending the receptionists ear about all this nonsense, the doctor was very good indeed. But then, at the end of the consultation she said, "If you have any more problems, let me know." I nearly fell over laughing.

  2. Review titled patchs works for me

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by PapaW - Posted on 01 March 2024

My Wife needed to be seen asap over the weekend , 111 advised urgent blood test & see GP asap on Monday: Blood test done at 8.00am,Monday logged into patchs 8.14am, got reply from Moorcroft at 8.16am on patches, GP received blood test results at 11.00am, Moorcroft phoned at 11.05am to come to surgery by 11.15am, Dr had all notes ready having read patchs communication, 1st class consultation, prescription sent to pharmacy at 11.35am, collected prescription at 11.55am. Repeat prescription requested 3 days later on patches, prescription ready at pharmacy same day. patchs worked for us! We have been with Moorcroft for 40 years + they have always been fantastic! If you are having trouble with patchs just ask for help, but like all healthcare you do have to try to help yourself if you can. Keep fit, cycle, walk or run, eat healthy, preventive medicine is the best. Try to embrace modern technology or be left behind.

Two weeks ago I used the online Patchs system three times, ten days after receiving no responses, I tried calling the practice to get cut off each time. I ended up going to the practice to sort out ongoing issues. Luckily I work in the area, I was told that my messages been received and did you press submit.!! Today I tried it again and definitely pressed submit I even went down to the doctors to check it had been received and once again it hadnt Fortunately the issues I needed sorting were non urgent however heaven help anybody if there was a real emergency or for those like my parents who do not have computer skills or mobile phone . Sort it out Moorcroft less than impressed with your 'improvements'

Thank you for your comment. We monitor PATCHS each day and we can confirm that we successfully received 111 requests on the day that you posted your comments and that the system appears to be working satisfactorily. However, as you say it does look like that you are experiencing some technical issues personally and we would ask that you contact the practice and speak to one of our managers who would be happy to go through the system with you and try to identify why your requests are not being received. Practices are now required to ensure that patients can contact the surgery by phone, by visit to the practice and also through digital communication such as PATCHS. Our patients can use any of these routes to contact us and our Reception team will support any of our patients who need help in using our services. Please do contact us so that we can work together to identify why your messages are not being received as we realise that this must be very frustrating for you.

  4. Review titled Incompetent service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Sheila Walker - Posted on 31 October 2023

I had a pre booked appointment to see the diabetic nurse at 3.30 on 30 October which had been confirmed by text message i attended the surgery and tried to book in on the machine but could not the receptionist told me i hadn't been booked in even though she found the booking on the system and the text messages. She told me to sit and wait while she had a word with the nurse after 25 minutes she informed me I would not be seen as the nurse was to busy and told me to reboot What a waste of my time taking time off from work as well Totally incompetent and not given a proper explanation off this error.

Thank you for your comment and our apologies for the inconvenience that this has caused you. We have checked our clinical system and can see that a text message was forwarded to you with the date and time that you state. However, although there is an audit trail of the appointment slot being booked, unfortunately the appointment does not appear in your electronic medical record. We cannot elicit why this has occurred and can only offer our apologies regarding this. We would aim to still accommodate the appointment if at all possible to save any inconvenience but on this occasion, the clinician concerned was managing a patient who had become acutely unwell and who needed urgent medical attention. This unanticipated situation meant that our Receptionist could not speak to the clinician immediately as would normally be the case. Our Receptionist did advise you once she had spoken to the clinician that the clinician was seeing a patient as an emergency and requested that you rebook. We hope this helps to clarify the circumstances for you.

  5. Review titled Awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 August 2023

The Patches system does not work for working people, I have tried twice in the past two days to make an appointment. I work in the afternoon so would need a morning appointment. I was sent a message to book with 3 appointment times, each time I tried the appointments had gone, told to ring the surgery, and low and behold I was offered an afternoon appointment again or appointment at Moss Green with ANP. Now offered an appointment in 2 weeks time with a GP and to ring 111 if need urgent appointment . Time to leave I think, how can this surgery be practising safely?

  6. Review titled Fab service and staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lisa Emery - Posted on 16 August 2023

Over the recent months I have had to contact the surgery more than i have ever done and I have to say the support and efficiancy of everyone who has been involved in my care has been 10/10. I have always felt listening to and taken seriously with care and compassion. I love the new Patches service, it is much easier for working people as it saves you hanging on the phone and the surgery either gets back to you with an appointment or if they can deal with the request without one then they will do. I can thank the GPs /Nurses who I have seen since April 2023 enough. I work in a GP Surgery myself and I am aware of the challenges. Keep up the good work.

  7. Review titled repeat prescription

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Lee Parry - Posted on 19 June 2023

Moorcroft Medical Centre a repeat prescription was handed to my pharmacy 3 weeks ago. They sent a request to you via the electronic method the same day. I ran out of my inhaler yesterday. I’ve listened to your introduction 3 times today on the telephone each time for a total of 2 minutes and 9 seconds to be told that your sorry and you are unable to take the call and then the line goes dead. If this is the way that you have started to run your surgery I’m not surprised that you have 1.7 stars.

  8. Review titled Awful change to online system

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 May 2023

Used to be able to request a non urgent telephone consultation easily online, now it’s an 08:15 online form completion, have to rush to complete on the day or it closes down when all appointments are gone , so not much better than the old days of the 8am telephone queue really . Bring back the non urgent online form! I don’t need a same day appointment and don’t want to add to the pressure . Awful.

Thank you for your comment. We are constantly monitoring our systems and your comments are important as part of this. We are about to commence trialling of some adjustments which we hope will help you. Just a reminder that you can place an administrative query on the system at any time if you do not need to see a clinician but perhaps need to chase up a blood test result or hospital report.

  9. Review titled Moorcroft using Patches as a crutch!

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 May 2023

Whilst the Patches website states this is an ‘alternative’ method to the usual telephone call when booking appointment to see my GP. Dear receptionists are stating Patches is the only option to book an appointment. Which is it huh?!

We are sorry that you are unhappy with our PATCHS service which offers an alternative to waiting in a phone queue to speak to a receptionist. We would be grateful if you could contact the surgery and speak to our duty manager so that we can discuss your needs with you and determine what aspect of PATCHS is not working for you.
