  2. Review titled Receptionist enjoys being unhelpful

Rated 1 star out of 5

I popped in today to Chase up a prescription for my wife who has been very unwell over the 8 weeks or so. She had spoken to someone there who said it would be ready at the chemists next door after 4.30pm. When it was not there I asked the lady on the reception desk, where it was. She had a look and said nothing was requested, which I knew was untrue, so I asked her to look again and guess what she said, ah yes it's here but we need a full list of meds and a discharge letter. I asked how long once they have the details will it take? She said we don't arrange prescriptions . What! I said ok, so how long will it take. I don't know she said. I said is it days, weeks or months? I don't know she said again, we don't do them. I was really confused as you have done this many times before. I then asked her where do they go then? She said we do them here. What!! I said, you just said you don't do them here. She reply, well I don't do them, the Drs do. - I know that the receptionist aren't Drs, what I don't understand is why did she need to be so obstructive and awkward, when she knew exactly what I was asking. Do they know they are playing with peoples lives when they pay their silly games. They need to take their job seriously otherwise they should leave. All I need to know is if a transferred prescription can be sorted in under 1 week. Why is that so hard to answer. I am blown away that anyone can chose do that job and be so intentionally rude and obstructive. Why?

  3. Review titled Cancelled Appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Mr Whitehead - Posted on 07 December 2023

Three appointments cancelled. All the day before and every time marked as..did not attend.. dna.. These were for Blood tests requested by the Dr..then offered more appointments weeks in advance. What a shame. Can't they refer a patient to the Hospital which is more reliable

  4. Review titled Gone downhill.

Rated 1 star out of 5

This used to be a very good practice, but no longer. Doctors used to listen to you, but that too is a thing of the past. After years of being with them, I am now making arrangements to move to another surgery. Trust is a very important part of doctor/patient relationship, and, I for one, no longer trust them at Marine. It is one particular doctor who is the problem. Obviously that one thinks the saying "the doctors always right" is gospel. My advice if you are planing on joining this surgery, is don't.

  6. Review titled Great Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 February 2023

Thank you so much for the very thorough and professional consultations my children have received in the last couple of months. I have been so impressed by both the Drs that we have seen. All the receptionists have been amazing too, working under such pressure but are always cheerful and caring and it is much appreciated. Thank you to all the staff at Marine Surgery.

  8. Review titled Clinical Excellence

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Grant M - Posted on 24 October 2022

At a time when the NHS is under such scrutiny and immense pressure, I feel it is essential to give an honest and accurate account of accessing GP services, as a patient at Marine Road Surgery and with the perspective of someone who has extensive experience of working in the Health and Social care Sector. I have been a patient at Marine Road Surgery for nearly a decade and having several complex health conditions means I have frequent and regular contact with the surgery. Non clinical practice staff are friendly and helpful, both over the phone and during face to face encounters. I have also observed them treating people of all ages and abilities with such friendliness, patience and empathy. The medical care provided by Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses and Physio's can only be described as clinical excellence. I always feel safe, cared for and that I am listened to. I am encouraged to take part in discussions about my health and decisions about treatment and medication. To continue to provide effective and regular services for day to day patient visits on top of a very smooth roll out of the Covid vaccination programme and the flu jab and Covid booster jab programmes, is irrefutable proof of an exceptionally well led practice and I can say with confidence that I am in very, very good hands.
