Review titled Really lovely doctor
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Rachael - Posted on 08 February 2025
After feeling rubbish - mainly I think to menopause - the doctor I saw was brilliant and let me have blood tests for a range of things. Some of the results were out of range so I’m now able to take action for those things. He also spoke to me about the menopause which always takes longer than the 5 allotted minutes because I get quite emotional. I’ve had a number of GP appointments with different doctors about it but there doesn’t seem to be much to do. I understand this but I still struggle. This doctor made some concrete suggestions. He also sent a link to an appointment so I could follow up which is helpful in terms of making an appointment. I do feel like I have a few options now which makes a massive difference to coping

As always with the Lodge St Albans I got my appointment quickly and easily. I saw the Dr who was fantastic. Took his time to listen and was extremely empathetic to my situation. Extremely helpful and thorough and I could not have asked for more from a doctors appointment.

Had an in-person consultation just a few days after my initial request on the booking website. The doctor was knowledgeable and referred me for an x-ray, where I hope to get more information to help with my issue.

I managed to book a non urgent appointment within a week. The doctor was very attentive and spent a decent amount of time with me.

Review titled Good staff interaction

I saw my practitioner, whom I can’t name for several reasons of the NHS . This practitioner has referred me to somewhere she feels I would benefit from more than her services. I believe she knew from our 3 appointments that I may need to tap into her services again if my referral takes longer than anticipated. She kindly and empathetically said to me. Just book another appointment with the surgery and she’ll see me.. that’s a respectable approach to someone who is struggling with some personal issues. Regards

Review titled Thorough review of my issues
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Prue Avis - Posted on 18 February 2025
First time to practice for 3 years, and l find face to face the best way to efficiently review my health issues. I appreciated the thoroughness of my doctors review, despite my being under a hospital, she followed up on addition blood indications. I think it's difficult for surgeries to keep on top of patients who are under long term hospital care and have a new issue to review. I also appreciated speaking to and seeing the same doctor over a couple of appointments to get some continuity of treatment. I'm from an age when your doctor was with you from cradle to grave and knew all the family history. That's just not possible now for most doctors but a bit of continuity is much appreciated. I also found the admin staff at Redbourn Surgery very friendly.

Review titled Terrible practice
Rated 1 star out of 5

The whole practice is run poorly, without any ability to take calls from patients needing help, you are just told to fill out form on line, I explained that we didn’t have the facilities to do that so I was told to come in to be shown how to do it, I said I was unwell and able so I was told to wait until I felt better or well enough to come in? I explained that was what I wanted to see the doctor for and was told could I then instead get someone to do it on my behalf, I have never known a more unhelpful set up
