  1. Review titled instance of terrible patient care

feeling and looking awful bloodshot eyes eyes pouring nose blocked breathing compromised also have copd, went down for emergency appt as come to the end of my tether, was told doctor would only do emergency appt by phone eh this doctor could diagnose my condition on the my phone? receptionist states this doctor insists on telephone consultation even for emergency appt, how can he diagnose me without seeing me, he wont see bloodshot eyes pouring eyes pour breathing by phone ear problem by phone, to my way of thinking he just wants to do as little as he can. He has form with me before and just about every other patient to have the misfortune of running across him. And no I don't have a cold I know this much. After being told this telephone situation, by polite receptionist her sidekick receptionist stepped in although it was nothing to do with her and said if you are that ill, you need an emergency appt you will see anyone, then told me not to shout whereby I told her not to patronise me I was unhappy prior to this, but to be reprimanded by this women who felt it was ok to ridicule me was beyond acceptable, In short how can a doctor diagnose a condition that has evidently physical symptoms, and why so post lockdown does a doctor insist on telephone consultation to decide whether to see a patient or not. If I feel the situation can be dealt with by phone I will gladly accept this, but an emergency appt delayed by a telephone conversation and a receptionist behaving the way she did is appalling to be clear the first receptionist was firm but polite the second younger receptionist was downright rude.

  3. Review titled Shocking Surgery

This is my moms surgery and her health has declined quite rapidly over the last 6 month. She is 94 and has numerous medical conditions. Her GP has recently changed and we have never managed to have a conversation with her new GP as reception send her an email to which she replies. The reception staff are not helpful and all they seem to do is advise you to call other services. When you follow this guidance, the other service advise it needs the GP to request it. This has happened for District Nurses and prescription requests. While on the subject of prescriptions, I have advised the surgery numerous times my mom is being over prescribed on various medication and to leave them off her repeat prescription, which never happens, apart from the last request to stop prescribing her steroid inhaler as she has 3 in stock but her blue inhaler was cancelled instead and another steroid inhaler sent! I I have to say it as I have experienced it, most if the reception staff are incompetent and have no regard or concern for patients welfare. This maybe down to poor management, but either way, it appears to be very badly run. On a positive note, the paramedic who attends for home visits is absolutely amazing. He is a credit to the Surgery and has been so supportive to mom and the family during her increased fraility, its just a pity that rest of the staff there are not interested.
