  1. Review titled GP appoinments

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 April 2025

I have tried several times to book a GP appointment, but can not book online as there is no facility. According to the website, there is a wait of 16 weeks until I can book any GP appointments. After this I looked at the site`s general announcements to find that the surgery is taking on new patients, surely this cannot continue when a waiting time of over 16 weeks for an appointment is found to be the case.

Thank you for your feedback. I'd like to clarify a few points: All appointments are released daily at 10am online. Appointments are only bookable within the next two weeks. We are unsure where the information about a 16-week wait was found. We are unable to stop taking on new patients as per NHS guidelines.

  2. Review titled poor service

Most inadequate, unhelpful practice I have ever experienced. Impossible to get an appointment, I now use A&E for all my medical needs, how can I wait 2~3 weeks when ill ???? Do not open or read correspondence, have to chase every single detail, request, prescription etc. No email on website???? NHS sliding rapidly it's a shame.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Really unsure about taking statins but after lengthy consultation with practice pharmacist I felt comfortable about making my choice. The help given felt very informed, professional & reliable. There was no rush and genuine in its delivery.

  4. Review titled Smear test

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The Nurse was utterly delightful. Along with most women I hate smear tests, the Nurse took the time to make me feel comfortable and was really pleasant throughout. I felt completely reassured with her doing the procedure. She was extremely knowledgable and explained everything clearly. The Nurse is a true asset to the NHS, what a star.

  5. Review titled Awful reception

Rated 1 star out of 5

Leckhampton has an awful reception. I’d give zero stars if I could. Calls take up to an hour to get picked up and the receptionists are consistently unhelpful and hostile. It has gone seriously down hill. I’ve had consultants alarmed at the diagnoses I have received. It was once pretty good but not any longer.

  6. Review titled Unhelpful/uncaring receptionists and No appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 March 2025

After being a patient of Leckhampton surgery for over 30 years I finally had enough and have moved due to the lack of appointments available and the uncaring/unsympathetic staff on reception. You cant call until after 10am for a same day appointment, often there are non available, even speaking to a dr on the phone is not possible, and the staff dont care how important it is that you speak to someone. I am caring for my mum who has alzeimers and trying to get appointments for her became impossible. The surgery has too many patients and is unable to handle the existing ones, but it still takes on more. The failings at the surgery are nothing to do with Covid or government funding, but due to bad management and over stretched doctors. I cannot fault the doctors and nurses at the surgery, but when you are unable to even see one and end up having to seek help for your 85 year old mother via 111 - only to have to ring again to see a doctor is a dreadful way to treat any human being. Since moving, the new practice has made me feel human and important again. They have already shown a deep understand for what it is like being a carer and couldnt help enough. This is how a proper caring surgery works

We’re sorry to hear that you have decided to leave the practice and take seriously your comments regarding the care you were accessing for your Mum. We are constantly reviewing the best way to bring the best and most appropriate care to our patients. Whilst we feel that low funding is a definite factor in the care we are able to give, we understand your frustrations and will continue to strive for improvement in all areas. Please note that for urgent appointments patients can call from 08:30am for same day care. Routine appointments are released at 10:00am daily.

  7. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mike Warner - Posted on 16 January 2025

An excellent experience throughout, including a telephone consultation, a swiftly arranged and carried-out ECG, blood test and x-ray, then an in-person review of the results. Felt my concerns were taken very seriously by the GP involved.

The GP I saw was absolutely brilliant. He took time to help and understand. He gave me help and assistance for the future. I'm incredibly grateful to him for giving me the time I needed. A great man, and an outstanding GP.

  10. Review titled Very Helpful

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I didn’t have an appointment booked but I needed to see a doctor. I was given a duty doctor appointment & when he rang he was extremely helpful. He asked me to attend the surgery. Very good service.
