  1. Review titled What an amazing GP practice we have

    by homamsn33 - Posted on 09 February 2023

I just want to say what an amazing GP practice we have. It is the Heron practice in North Hackney We are a family of three and have all used our GP practice quite a bit in the last couple of years My daughter had some issues re her menstrual cycle and this was then investigated due to referrals and then has been followed up at the GP practice by kind, considered consultations. I have had some heart issues and a horrible bout of covid recently. Again referrals were made for my heart which has led to excellent care. This involved brilliant follow up at Homerton and Barts, as well as kind thoughtful discussion with my GP practice The two doctors we have both seen have been so thorough, thoughtful and kind. I cannot thank them enough. I've also had a phone call with a kind member of the reception staff, who helped me sort out some asthma concerns for my daughter too, when she was going away. Well done Heron practice, you are fantastic

  2. Review titled The administrator was very kind and helpful

    by tucanaze45 - Posted on 23 July 2022

I had gross hematuria (full bloody urine for the first time) at home on Thurday, but I had to go on a 1-day business trip. So, on Friday, on my way to London, I called the Heron Practice. The administrator (don't know her name) was so helpful and fast-acting that she immediately booked a slot for me. But since my flight would arrive home by evening, I wouldn't be able to come to the slot she booked. So, since my symptoms were urgent, she arranged for the GP from extended branch to call and check on me on Saturday morning (the administrator made sure that I should not miss that call in the morning). Thanks to her, I was able to discuss my problem with the GP. Although I eventually needed to visit A&E due to new abdominal and back pain at noon, I could be assured on Friday night and could avoid going to A&E on Friday. Thank you so much once again!!

  3. Review titled THE WORSE TELEPHONE ACCESS SYSTEM

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 May 2022

I've attempted to ring this practice for access multiple times. And the call queue time is appalling. I've waited over 50mins to be connected. And still no answer. I'm aware of the Econsult, but sometimes I don't want an electronic action plan. Sometimes I will call for an emergency appt and cannot get access. I prefer to go A&E as this practice telephone access is absurd. You cannot get through at all, even though prompts will tell you you're #1 in queue I've waited over an hour and at times even been disconnected. Such a poor services. Patients should be able to get through after 3 rings not 60mins plus? If someone was terribly unwell, and need community access to be asssessed this shouldn't be ones experience. Patient's health needs to be managed better if registered here. Not neglected by phone line system. I truly feel like it's set up to defer patients as there is no chance to actually get through to anyone. And this has happened to me multiple times. This is not a one off experience. I've even considered registering elsewhere or go A&E when I need medical input. As my local GP has no accesss for patients via telephone triage.
