I was very impressed by the process of booking an appointment today. I filled in an online form at 9am. Within 30 minutes I received a call back from the surgery with an appointment booked for 11am. The appointment was on time and I was home by 11.30am with my medicine.

Recently I had a medication review and my dose of Nebivolol was reduced to 1.25mg per day. I said that I would start with my next repeat prescription in May and monitor my BP. I put in an order with Well Pharmacy but my order has not yet been approved. I phoned and spoke to someone who I presume was a receptionist – she told me my order would not be approved until the 6th May. I explained that I received my last order on the 8th March and that I needed them sooner. If my BP was to rise I would have to revert to 2.5 mg. The receptionist did not seem to understand and seemed just to be reading form a script. Receiving 56 Nebivolol tablets on 8th March means that they would last until 2nd May by my calculations. Ordering on 6th May would mean that they would likely be dispatched (by post) on 7th May. When dispatched Well send an email saying “It should reach you in 2 to 4 days.” So conceivably it may not reach me until 11th May. Are you really telling me that you are prepared to let people go over a week without medication? Please approve my order and let me know when this has been done. Please also process this as a formal complaint.

I was seen by the Nurse this morning and wish to commend her on her wonderful empathy, kindness, understanding and professionalism. She went above and beyond in every way for which I am truly grateful. I also wish to thank the Reception staff, for their great service, efficiency, patience and kindness. They too, went out of their way to assist me today. As a new patient, I would wholeheartedly recommend this practice.

Today I saw a GP (I can’t put her name here or it will be rejected) this is my second time within 6 months for a different issue and she has been just as helpful and professional as the first time. When I first saw Dr R in Oct 23, she totally understood my problem and I felt I was listened to. She quickly referred me to a specialist and I am now on a waiting list for surgery. Today, when I saw that I was seeing the same Gp, I felt relieved as I know she will be professional and caring just as before. Thank you The Firs for having Dr R as a GP there.

I've been in and out of the clinic more than usual for the last year and have been very impressed with the medical staff. Their friendly, caring manner really helped me deal with the stress of being unexpectedly ill. Thank you!

The lady in Reception understood my problem and did what was necessary so that I could go back to the chemist to collect the urgent prescription. She was very pleasant and I could not be happier with the service provided.

I contacted the clinic in June/July timeframe to inform them of a family trip to South East Asia. All three members of the family are registered at The Firs. After receiving a call back on my initial contact I was informed that it was too early to book but I should arrange it 6-8 week prior to travelling. On following this instruction I was given an appointment in late October just over 3-weeks before travelling. During the vaccination consultation we were informed that we had left it a bit late and that stocks of the required vaccines were very low (We received the last batch remaining). We were also informed that it was extremely late to have Tetanus and that we should arrange that at a local travel clinic. The service was excellent and the staff were very good, but it's disappointing that we were mildly berated for leaving it late when we had contacted the clinic in plenty of time. It would also have been good to have been told about Tetanus timeframe rather than be in a situation where we risk our health while travelling because we were not informed of the requirements earlier. I know we could have done our own research but we had informed mecial staff of our requirements in plenty of time and it's disappointing to be now chasing last-minute costly vaccinations at local travel clinics.

This gp practice is very good.They do look after their pt very well.they have a very good online system where you fill out the form regarding your problem, and someone will call you with appointment times. I am very happy with the reception team and the Dr's.
