  1. Review titled Sympathetic and professional staff

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Deborah Carbonaro - Posted on 28 February 2023

The receptionist was very kind and helpful. She went out of her way to ensure that I was offered a prompt appointment and welcoming when I arrived at the surgery. Her caring approach put me at ease. The doctor was thorough at examination and compassionate.

  3. Review titled Never able to see a GP

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Connie ABELA - Posted on 26 October 2022

My daughter is 11 years old and suffers from severe allergies and eczema. I have phoned the GP at 7.58 everyday this week to get an appointment. On hold for an hour each time to then be told that there are no appointments. I am complaining to CQC. I explained that her skin is beginning to get infected and the last time this happened she was in hospital with scepticimia. Receptionist showed no care and offered an extended hours appointment at another surgery on Friday at 7pm. Her excuse was there GPs on holiday. Knowing that there will be a shortage due to GP holidays and an increased surge of appointments due to the half term holiday, you would assume that they would have organised to get agency GPs or be proactive to find ways to support their patients.

Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback. We have limited on the day appointments and the demand for these is very high, especially in Autumn. I can see from the records that your child was given an appointment on the day you wrote your feedback on Wednesday 26th October. The receptionist offered you an appointment with our enhanced access service, which is provided by our Primary Care Network, this is a service the Doctors House working together with 7 other GPs in Seven Kings provide in Seven Kings Health Centre. If you have an emergency, you can also contact 111, and if they deem it appropriate, they can book you directly onto our appointment system as they have a number of appointments allocated to them. We have increased the number of receptionists we have to answer calls and advised patients to keep their calls to 5 minutes as long calls directly impact the time other patients need to wait for. We did have a doctor on holiday, and the doctor sessions were covered by Locums. We had another doctor off sick and was unable to get cover for her on the day as locum availability during half term is reduced significantly. Regards Practice Business Manager

  4. Review titled Really bad practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 April 2023

I started the registration process with Doctors House early Oct 2022 and in Feb 2023 I was still chasing for confirmation. No one seems to ever answer the phone, the phone rings and rings. I walked into the surgery several times to enquire about my registration and again no one was able to provide helpful answers and then promised someone would call me back, but they never did. It is now the middle of April and I need a repeat prescription for inhalers so I went back to my old gp to request this but they said my record was inactive. I wasn't aware of this. This means that the duty of care from my old gp had been discharged and the new Doctors House surgery had failed to register me in a timely manner, so I am left with no gp at all. I am advised by the old gp surgery to call 111 to obtain the inhalers I require. I have also been on the phone again today to the Doctors House and the receptionist said I needed to complete a new form as they did not have or had disposed of my application, and they were not able to explain why. Its all very inefficient. She claimed to have called me several times but didn't leave a message, go figure, why would you not leave a message!? I find this GP surgery really really poor, its a shame I had to move to a different practise, as the old gp was brilliant and very responsive and helpful. It has become very frustrating, tiresome, tedious and time consuming in what should ordinarily be straightforward process.

  5. Review titled Worst practice

    - no proper channel to contact them - no email available to contact them, never pick up the phone at anytime of the day. When you walk up to the surgery receptionist are just talking among themselves and phone keeps ringing. - don’t want to issue prescription medicines that they are available over the counter so buy it even when you are eligible for free medicines. - I feel doomed with this surgery as nobody really wants to help

After my appointment being brought forward by an hour the evening before. by the surgery I was still waiting almost until my original appointment time . Dr referred me to the pharmacist at tesco who after seeing me said “ you need a prescription from the dr” so now I have to try and get another appointment. I waited over 6 weeks for this original one . & had already spoken to a pharmacist myself a month ago .

  7. Review titled Waiting times and lack of support and care

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by R Shina - Posted on 16 September 2022

I have waited over 50 minutes today to get through to speak to reception today and when I finally did I was told all appointments had gone. I explained that I was calling on behalf of my 70 year old parent who is recovering from cancer and needed to seek some advice from the doctor regarding his post care and there was little care about this. Instead I was told I had to call back and try again. Absolutely awful that the most vulnerable people cannot be helped by our national health service - what have they worked hard and paid in for for all of their lives? Very disappointing

  8. Review titled Telephone system

Rated 1 star out of 5

This is the second time in a week that I have called for an appointment at the specified time. I called over 40 times at 1:30 before I got through. I was then on hold for 38 minutes and was 10th in line. After 38 minutes the menu moved to the options where I selected 5 for an appointment and 1 minute later the phone went dead. As I said this is not the first time that has happened and I generally try to go to the surgery for an appointment, however as Myself and my husband have regular day jobs and care for elderly parents in their 80’s who live with us. This isn’t always possible. A better appointment system needs to be set up. Why were the online bookings removed from the NHSApp?

Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback. We have looked at the situation you have highlighted, and we have been advised that the calls are dropped by the mobile phone carrier. We have increased the number receptionists who answer calls, however our demand is really high. We stopped the online bookings since COVID as we triage all our patients who come to an appointment. I would recommend you use econsult, it is online consultation which we respond to with 2 working days, you can access this via our website www.thedoctorshouse.co.uk If you need to discuss this further, please contact the reception and I will call you back Regards Practice Business Manager

  9. Review titled Amazing service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I just wanted to mention that this GP surgery has been outstanding. I have seen some negative reviews but I can say, being a patient here for many years, that is not the case. The staff are always patient and respectful. And if there is any issue they are always willing to help especially during this pandemic. When many surgeries were closed due to lockdown or seeing only seeing a handful of patients the doctors house continually provided the same quality of care. I am very impressed and happy to be a patient here.

  10. Review titled The Most Caring Practice Ever

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Elaine Marsh - Posted on 09 May 2022

I just wanted to say a big thank you from receptionists to GPs for everything you have done over the years and especially the past few months for my 98 year old mother. Mum was in hospital for over 15 weeks and during that time contact had to be made with her doctor - whenever I called the surgery everyone was so helpful and always passed on messages immediately. Whilst in hospital they managed to brake my mothers hearing aids and even though there was an audiology department in the hospital they couldn’t get them repaired. My mother is now out of hospital, I called the practice and they are organising a ‘home’ visit from the NHS company that supplied the hearing aids. Thank you for being so caring especially to your elderly patients, it really is very much appreciated.
