  1. Review titled Superb care today

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Helen Bashford - Posted on 06 October 2023

I had reason to contact the surgery today. I was in severe pain and immobile at home. The receptionist S* was compassionate kind and helpful. She called me back to keep me updated on getting me help and this was very reassuring. I was lucky and got seen and prescriptions sorted. On the 3 occasions over the last 2 years I have had to use the surgeries service I have received skilled supportive professional care. In these times of staff shortage and troubled times in the NHS I am very very grateful for being under the care of courtyard surgery. Thank you

  2. Review titled Very calming atmosphere

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sheila Bowen - Posted on 24 August 2023

I had an appointment yesterday as I had a prescription problem which was causing me distress. I was seen by an extremely caring doctor who listened to me and did not rush me. She made me feel very at ease. My problem was solved and I came away feeling very relieved and completely satisfied with my appointment. The surgery has a very calming atmosphere.

  3. Review titled Great doctor

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by C.Hacker - Posted on 28 July 2023

The doctor was brilliant, very quick, methodical, understanding and we managed to discuss a great deal and be assessed well. I felt I was being listened too and checked over without being rushed. She was kind and considerate and I came away feeling very assured. Admittedly it did take nearly 40 mins on the phone to make the appointment but I always find the staff very helpful and I understand they are short staffed and doing what they can in difficult times.

  4. Review titled Exceedingly poor

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Chris Boxall - Posted on 04 May 2023

for the last 5 days now I have suffered with an eye problem. I have called the gp 3 days in a row one of these days was later than the 8am that is recommended. on the third day of phoning them at 8:10am I was quite far back in the queue 20th perhaps. my call was answered by a receptionist, I asked appointment on the day which there wasn't, it's not the point that there wasn't an appointment it's the point that I've spent the last 20 minutes in the queue from 10 minutes of them being open all appointments are gone for the day.. I was offered nothing else by the receptionist besides parming me off so the 111 service. which I then told them that was the first place I called rather than phone my gp which is round the corner. the receptionist did say that I should go to a&e in crawley which unfortunately I do not drive and do not have the money to get to crawley so what are my options to get my eye sorted out. The uk health services is in an absolute mess including this gp

  5. Review titled Great Dr's&nurses terrible reception

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 March 2023

I've called enoumerous times to book an appointment for my baby due to a bad rash that now is worst and myself to check a lump in my breast and they don't have an appointment or the schedule is not open to book appointments. Reception is not friendly either, when you visit the pratice even though you say good morning 3times they just ignore you and are rude. I hope things change because the dr's and nurses are all very nice and friendly.

  6. Review titled This surgery is now a Joke

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Karl Humphrey - Posted on 23 March 2023

I have seen the previous reviews and the generic reply. This surgery used to be fantastic. In the last fortnight both myself and my partner have been trying to get separate appointments. Mine for a headaches and vision issues and the other for my childs digestive problems. Neither of these I can get a diagnosis for because A) There are no bookable appointment or B) By the time the 08:00 40 minutes queue has gone down all the appointments are full. The other option I have been given is to go to the emergency walk in at Crawley. How has it got to this state? Caveat: the staff and GPs (when I do get to see them, have always been excellent.)

Dear Karl Thank you for sharing your review and experience with us. I am very sorry to hear that this was not satisfactory and that we were not able to help you or your partner when contacting the practice. Unfortunately, when a patient shares an anonymous review a more structured standard response is given as we are not able to investigate these concerns fully. As a surgery we welcome patient feedback to help improve the services we offer to our patient. Appointment pressure within the NHS are very high at the present time and we are working hard to recruit more GP’s from a dwindling pool available to all general practice providers. I am pleased to share that since February 2023 we have recruited 2 new GP, with the latest joining out team next month. I hope this will support our patient with access to appointments. I hope to make contact with you over the coming days to discuss your experience and look at ways we can improve things for you and our patients moving forward. Kind Regards Practice Manager

  7. Review titled What is the point of having a GP you can never see?

Rated 1 star out of 5

by sarah fryer - Posted on 27 March 2023

You cannot get appointments by calling or following their instructions of calling 111. You cannot get a non emergency appointment either, even if looking for one in over 5 weeks time. You wont be prescribed anything without being assessed? So what is the point? All you are told is to call back tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day.... Or, their favourite get out; go sit in Crawley 'urgent' treatment unit for 7 hours just to get a prescription. If you don't have a day of your life to spare for that, then its your problem and shame on you bad parents!

  8. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by KELVIN MCCARTNEY - Posted on 31 March 2023

Visited the surgery on the afternoon of 30 March 2023 with my wife for vaccinations with the nurse and other administrative issues. I was standing in reception for some time and witnessed the two receptionists dealing with a number of patients with a range of issues. I cannot speak highly enough of the way in which they dealt with all the matters not only politely but in a competent fashion. Likewise, the nurse who gave both my wife and myself a number of vaccinations was very professional in the way she dealt with us. All three displayed excellent personality skills. I felt I had to write to thank them all for the services they provided as I have in the past been critical of the way previous receptionists have to say the least been unhelpful.

  9. Review titled Telephone GP Consultation

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anita Rosser - Posted on 04 October 2022

Surprisingly satisfied with my telephone consultation this afternoon. Was told it'd be after 12. Was called at 1 pm! Before I've waited and waited and have even missed the call because I couldn't wait any longer, because it was in the middle of a working day and I had a meeting to go to! I am fearful today's good experience is the exception and not the norm. Next time who knows I might have to put my life on hold until I'm called. This isn't the fairest way to ''see'' patients. You hold all the control. The patient has to wait indoors and can't go anywhere until the GP calls. I wanted to go into the office today and meet colleagues but instead I had to work from home because I had no idea when the GP would call. If I had the option of a set appointment time, even if it was by telephone, I could have arranged it for the early morning and gone into the office afterwards. Why can't the patient choose a time to be called convenient to them like we did in the good ol days when we saw our GP face to face? I was lucky today but may not be next time.

  10. Review titled GPs are good if you can get to see them

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 August 2022

Though the GPs are good, it seems like reception is a brick wall. I had an urgent issue, related to cancer care, and was first told on the phone I couldn't book an urgent appointment because it wasn't an emergency but the receptionist would, "let the doctor know". No follow up so I called again next business day, saying it was urgent. Still no offer of an appointment and the same story - we'll let the doctor know. So, I went into the surgery. The receptionists had let the doctor know that day but no response. I asked if they still offered urgent appointments by calling in in the morning and they said that yes, they do. Well, you could've fooled me. When I spoke to them in person, the receptionists were nice enough but still not all that helpful. It's just so frustrating and demoralizing to have to fight for your medical care when you're already under so much stress from a cancer diagnosis already. This is not good practice. When I read similar reviews online; the response is always "sorry, it's due to Covid". It's time to stop blaming Covid for everything under the sun and start making some changes.
